I've had plasma televisions for several years now and once i decided to switch it up with a LED, a Toshiba 55WL863. Amazing picture quality, but the blur was absolutely terrible, even in 60fps games like RAGE and CoD i had it. It made gaming pretty much impossible. Now a friend of mine wants to go for a LCD television, because he saw several Xbox 360 games on a Sony Bravia and he was blown away. Personally i have a LG 60PA6500 plasma for gaming, but i have to admit that this old Sony Bravia LCD indeed produced an amazing picture. GTA V for example looks a lot better on that tv than on mine. Maybe that's because my tv is 60 inch and the Sony is like 32. That sure makes a difference too, right? Or is the picture quality usually just better on LCD?
Anyway, he seems dead set on LCD, even though he had seen the horrible blurring on the Toshiba, maybe that tv just wasn't too good for gaming. He's aiming for 50 or 55 inch and the budget is around 800-1200 euros. Is there a LCD tv for that price that suffers little from this blurring? I have read that there are plenty gamers with LCD TV's with the size of 50 or larger, so either there are indeed LCD's of that size with little blur, or those people just don't notice or mind it.
