Yes. Turn the TV off and try the code again. It should show the number of hours in the bottom left corner. Did you scroll away from the first screen it displayed after hitting the code?

Josh, did you press volume up or volume down during the sequence? Vol+ takes you to the screen you've pictured, Vol- should go to the check screen.

Mine does not look like that. I would call Sony for a replacement.

No it's the third group of numbers, so 186 hours. But 172 is close enough. biggrin.gif

Sometimes a fault is just fault, perhaps something went wrong with the application of the diffuser.

Incidentally, the screen uses an AUO UD3Y650LN0101 panel, but there doesn't seem to be much more information on the internets than that.

Quick question im looking into, does this have HDMI 2.0 now? Or is that only the newer B model. Im looking to upgrade my current Sony LED to for a 4k, and im leaning towards the A, unless it does not have HDMI 2.0.

All of the ports are HDMI 2.0. Only one is HDCP 2.2, which means any 4k streaming device would need to go into port 4. Most of the things I am reading points to the A being better than the newer B series. The B series seems to have dropped some Picture Quality features to keep price down.

Were they clear if the replacement is a refurb? Or is it new?

Are you referring to the X850B or X900B? The X850B is not out yet and has not been reviewed. The X900B is out and getting glowing reviews.

The 900b. All of the reviews I have seen and post from users on this forum who own it state it is missing some features the previous A model had. Basically, the A model was priced so high b.c some of the screen features they added. They are not in this years model b.c they were trying to keep price down and make for of an entry level model.

I read the posts and they were not true. All speculation by X900A owners I feel justifying sticking with their X900A purchase. Posts made before the X900B even shipped.

The only thing the X900B is missing is passive 3D. No one in the X900B thread as said they prefer the X900A. (Besides for 3D.)

Both of the reviews below said the X900B is an improvement over he X900A. And yes, I ordered the 65X900B. It's delivering tonight. smile.gif

900B seems to be a good TV but certainly 850B seems to be downgrade compared to 850A to meet a certain price point. After looking at the features I decided to go with 850A instead of 850B. This is after getting frusturated with issues with 2 Samsung F9000 panels.

I bought 2 4K sets. The 65X900B and the 55X850A. I went with the 850A for the same reasons. By specs, the 850B did not look as promising.

Well there is a huge price difference between the 65X900b and the 55X850a, maybe that had a play on your decision? Did you just feel like the 900b was not worth 2x the price?

If the 850b had the same specs as the 850a I would have gotten that set... the 850a is an awesome all rounder.

I purchased both. The 65X900B and the 55X850A. smile.gif

My decision for the 2nd was between the 55X850A and the 55X850B. I did not think the features in the X850B were worth the increase in price over the X850A considering the 55" is a secondary bedroom TV. Also thought they removed features to reduce the X850B price.

I see that the HDMI 2.0 is listed as a free upgrade on Sony's website. If I purchase the TV from a retailer like Best Buy, will I need to go through Sony for this upgrade, or how does that work?

The software update to enable HDMI 2.0 came out last December and may already be installed, depending on when your TV was manufactured. Otherwise it's an easy software update using the TV's built in wired, or wireless, internet capabilities.

I'm wondering if the panel used for the 65X850A is 10-bit, like the ones used in the 65X900A and 55W900A. The panel that's being used is AUO UD3Y650LN0101. I did a google search and there wasn't much information to be found. Not that it matters, just curious. Anyone have any insight?

Got my 55X850A delivered, installed and running last night. I did a very quick calibration with the Spears and Munsil disc. I did not have a lot of time to play with it, but I did stream 'Madmen' from Amazon Prime with my Oppo BDP-103/Roku stick. Even the wife was in awe of the picture.

So far, very impressed with the design and function of this set!

Fairly certain it is the exact same type of panel used in the 900W, not sure if it's 10-bit but I'm assume it is.
