Hello all. Yes I don't have a 1080P set.

Posted in the plasma forum. Wanted to get some insight from here to:

Budget: Don't really want to spend over 1300.

Viewing distance is about 8ft away.

Movie watching and I will be spending a pretty hefty time with the Xbox One.

My current set is a Samsung HP-T4264. I was looking at the Panasonic P50ST60 and the Samsung UN46F7100. Any thoughts or other sets anyone could recommend?

Is 3D a requirement?

If not helped a friend pick out a 55" Samsung 6350 LED at Costco last weekend. He's got a brightly lit room so plasma wouldnt work. He's very happy with it. It's a Smart TV and goes for $999.

Nope 3d not required. But, my Window blinds darken my room completely.

Thanks again

this probably means plasma is the better choice for your viewing environment... in a dark room black levels really affect picture quality and that Samsung LED-LCD won't come close to the Panasonic ST60 (or S60 for that matter)

if you don't need 3D consider the S60 plasma... I got one myself about two weeks ago (50") and it completely blows my previous Samsung 46" UN46EH6030 LED-LCD out of the water in all areas of PQ except brightness in high APL scenes (in other words when the ABL kicks in)... it's actually quite bright, however with moderate APL scenes (aka most content)
