I just upgraded my 5 year old 46inch Sharp Aquos with a brand new 60inch Sharp LE651 (euro model).
It´s an 200hz model, but I have turned off all the "soap opera" settings, to get the normal film look.
The problem is, 24p looks worse on the new screen than on my old one.
Film judder was only really noticable on fast camera pans, but on the new TV, it´s much more noticable, to the point that watching someone move their face from side to side becomes very juddery.
Is it that the faster refresh rate of newer LCD shows 24p judder more clearly, and that my older display kinda smoothed it out with motion blur?
The colors and contrast is breathtaking on the new screen. But everytime something moves faster than a snail, it takes me out of the movie.
Could it be that the TV don´t show 24p properly? Or is this how 24p REALLY looks?
My old Sharp doesn´t have any of that 100hz-200hz crap, but it has a filmmode setting, which the new one lacks.
The old one has lots of modes to choose from, but the new one only has Max, Eco, Dynamic and User, and the last one is the only one that is watchable and where I can change the settings. But I really miss a Film and Game mode. Both which last years models had...
