Hello,

I may be in the wrong location but I figure I will start here. I currently have an Oppo BDP103, Synology DS413j and a wireless router that all reside in my living room. Both the BDP 103 and the DS413j are hard wired directly to my wireless router. The DS413j contains backups of all my blu-ray movies (avchd/bdmv/certificate folder structure) and I am able to watch my blu-ray backups on my TV in the living room. My question is, I just recently purchased a TV for my bedroom (Samsung UN32EH5300) which is a smart tv and I was wondering how I can go about playing those same blu-ray backups on the TV in the bedroom? Any ideas?

Youre tv supports DLNA so can stream movies from a DLNA server.

You're DS413j supports DLNA if enabled ... so all good there.

The problem you will have is, the samsung tv probably wont playback bdmv. If you had created MKVs or M2TS from the backups, then you would be fine .... but right now the stumbling block you have is support for the bdmv.

If you want a low cost player then dune 303d may work for you but has limitations with bdmv .. as in movie only. Extras have to be searched through manually.

Thanks for the quick reply. So I guess the question is, is there a media player solution that can handle the avchd/bdmv folder structure via something like Chromecast or Roku?

Like I said, Dune or perhaps similar. Chromecast and roku are unable to.

Or the absolute cheapest way - which involves not spending any more money, is just create Mkvs from your bdmv backups
