What I would like to know is do you guys/gals think I should be given a new TV + One connect that works with my PC?

Basically the only reason I purchase this TV was because samsung was saying that they would upgrade the one connect box in the future and that would run UHD@6Hz full chroma. Now I have all the kit and it doesn't.

You might argue that the Screen that I purchased is working as advertised to the original spec? I think it doesn't because the original marketing was "buy this tv cos its future proof and will run UHD@60Hz on HDMI 2.0 down the track"

Would love to hear your thoughts.
So now your TV won't even display 1080p from your PC? What is your Graphic Card set to output/How do you have the card set up (PC res or TV res)? What port # on the Kit is your PC connected to?
I haven't had a chance to test 4k from my PC on my F9000 because my PC is a monster and I haven't moved it downstairs but it works fine on my HU8550 after the latest update with my GTX 970. Your card can't do 4:4:4 @ 60hz, the updated driver only allowed 4:2:0 @ 60Hz because your card is only HDMI 1.4. (I could be wrong about your card). Does any other device have an issue connecting to your Kit? If not then You may have a setting wrong in your Nvidia setup, maybe something as easy as a refresh rate or PAL/NTSC settings.

The PC is running a stock EVGA 750 Ti card HDMI output of 1080P@60 Hz. I have found it hard to really find out what chroma the card is putting out (happy to hear any suggestions that don't involve test images as that seems to have been inconclusive). I think it would be fair to say that whatever chroma the card is outputting the TV should be fine with it. In saying that the 2nd last thing they asked me to do was turn of UHD colour setting for that output.

I have used port 1 and 2. I have also tried port 2 with it re-named to PC.

I would be happy to upgrade to a 970 or even the new 960?? cards that will be coming out. If someone said they will guarantee it will work.

My point at the moment is, Samsung have said this setup (PC outputting 1080p) will work, and its not and they are being less than awesome with their support. I keep getting scripted lines about resets and updates but no one with any insight or technical knowledge. They say things like, "it works with your apple TV so it must be a compatibility issue with your pc". I reply yes it does seem to be a compatibility issue with the PC, your manual/spec/advertising says it will work and it doesn't thats why I'm asking you to fix it.

It might not have happened yet but there is going to come a point where they should upgrade or refund. I have had the TV for 9 months and the one connect for a month all with the goal (as marketed) of 2160p@60Hz full chroma. I am assuming when i get to that point I will be able to tune the picture to be better than the washed out picture I currently get.

I have trouble shooter this to death with this forum and others and samsung. When do they admit defeat? when do i say its time to refund/upgarde?

Just a quick update, something must have triggered an escalation because a nice man from Samsung just called and said he was working on it and is talking to someone in Korea.

I still haven't read anywhere of anyone running an F9000 with SEK-2500 running UHD@60Hz 4:4:4 anyone,......anyone,......Buler?

I might end up being the first person to do it or maybe I get some new kit and maybe a non-disclosure statement :/

Ahh gotcha. Your current card absolutely should work fine with the one connect @1080p so something else is going on there. Unfortunately since other devices work you are fighting an uphill battle with Samsung. Having said that you are never going to get 2160p@60Hz with full chroma 4:there ith your current card no matter what TV you connect it to.

To add to my above statement there are users over in the SEK-2500u Evolution Kit thread who have 4K@60Hz with 4:4:4 running perfectly fine with new Nvidia HDMI 2.0 cards on their F9000s. I believe Robert is one of them but maybe he can chime in here.

Yeah I got 4k @ 60hz to work. It wasn't working until I ran it through my denon 4100w though

Did you try the direct route with the latest 1180 or 1190 firmwares for the SEK-2500 (if you're using that) ? Apparently it fixes 4k@60hz in 4:4:4 chroma.

Although that sounds very encouraging and the closest i have heard yet that it might work. Can I confirm that is running a SEK-2500u? I think Euro and Australasia are practically identical.

You would have to ask robert9674. I would also inquire in the SEK-2500U thread.

I just pikced up a 980 so good to hear it plays well with the HU8550! I should receive it soon.

Has anyone figured out what the latest firmware (released November 7th) does yet?

Well now.....

Yes...it's true. The purveyor of all things "DIY" projection screen-wise just nabbed himself a UN55F9000

Black Friday Pre-purchase madness. ($1699)

Before I try to find out why /what I should know about any caveats or necessary issues by wading through 68 pages, I'd like to ask meekly if anyone can relate such a list (hopefully short) Needed Firmware upgrades? Any particular quirks I need to know about?

That's the kind of request I have to fill 95% of the time over on DIY screens, and I do it pretty much willingly. So......................?

I installed one for someone last week and was duly impressed with it's up-conversion ability. Replacing a top end 55" ViZIO 1080p 3D that got absconded with.

I'm running a gtx 970 into the HDMI 2 port (SEK-2500u). Can't get sound to work playing a bluray in PowerDVD 14 or Kodi with the HDMI 2 port renamed PC. It does work with the HDMI 2 port unnamed but I can't stand the AMP. Appears it cannot be turned off. Anyone got sound working using the PC label?

What I like and dont like in this TV

No remarks on 2D
I do not watch any 4K, however i didnt want 2 times bigger pixel then 46" TV. And I`m satisfied.

I didn`t know what is "3d ghosting" with passive Panasonic. Now I see them on most moving people.

Recognizing 3rd party air mouse and keyboard (Miele 10). Relay nice.

1) NOT recognize 3D automatically like my old and cheep Panasonic.
2) 10 clicks to start shared video from local network.
3) Shered videos "samsung link" are not displayed in their folders, all videos come in one common folder (DLNA).
4)"samsung link" device are accessible only from "hub button + 5*left +2* down + enter +3* right + enter" not from "source"
5)If you stop video incidentally(which happen in the dark due to not normal button place and small size), again 10 clicks and it start from beginning
6) 2 remote controls, neither got all you need, nor basics button like aspect raito, nor can return to TV with one click (need 2 clicks from video play to tv "source-enter")

Control is disaster!!!!!!!!!!!
Otherwise OK

Gentlemen, it is my understanding that Ultraflix a 4K streaming app. is supposed to be on all Samsung 4K sets. Have any of you seen it yet and if you have how is it working? Thanks in advance for you time and consideration.

It is available on all Samsung 4k sets. You have to download it manually though by going to Smart Hub, then the Apps page, then Categories, then Video, and then looking for UltraFlix. It may also be under the What's New section. UltraFlix has some decent demo material for free but their Pay Per View stuff is simply awful. B Movies at best. The quality of the free stuff is pretty good depending on your connection. UltraFlix interface is just ok, Exiting the app is clunky.
