Hello, new member from South Africa here :)
So I've just bought a Samsung UA55F7500, and I've immediately picked up some noticeable spotlighting. I've trawled through threads here for a fix, but no amount of calibration or fiddling seems to completely remove it.
Would you guys consider this bad enough to warrant a return for a new unit? (Not the best picture from my iPhone in a darkened room, but the uneven lighting is still quite clear in the shot.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
That's a pretty normal amount of flashlight effect for an edge-lit LCD. If you are coming from a plasma, that's what the problem actually is.
I took this shot when I was visiting CNET's TV testing facility, comparing screen uniformity on LED-lit LCD vs. plasma.

I'm going to fiddle with the calibration a bit more before I make a call to return it or not.
