Just saw Sony is releasing the 850B this spring with the new decoder. Did i just make a bad purchase of the 850A? Do you believe this will be a simple update to the tv and it will be just like the 850B?

I still have time to return the tv but dont really want to unless neccesary.

Thank You for your help!

There will not be a firmware update. You need the hardware to decode it.

That was what i was afraid of. Only had the tv for 1 week now. I guess i should return it? Is the only benefit to having the new decoder on the tv is to cut the bandwith in half for streaming video? I have 50mbp service now.

Trying to understand this.
