As fafrd says, it's only US market.

For those living in the US, the market economics works in their favor as competition means better pricing for the consumer. For those of us living out-side of the US, unfortunately this results in higher pricing for a number of reasons. Taxes, distributor/agent fees, inefficiencies, etc. means the additional costs are passed down to the consumer. It's a question if one is willing to pay the piper or not.

As an example, I've been looking at the LG 55' OLED HDTV (model number 55EC9300) here in Hong Kong and it's at least 80% more costly than what's available from the forum support Cleveland Plasma. I wont be getting a unit for a while.

Maranatz SR-7009(on order), Oppo BPD-93, MTV 7000D, LG LW6500, aTV, WDTV Live, Harmony 650 remote, KEF E301, MiniDSP(2x4), Rythmik F12G

Great to see the downward pricing pressure Vizio is placing on the entire 4k market...

Take responsibility for your own actions...society is not here to look after you...

Updated. Also significant drops on the LG LED/LCDs (probably because of delays in rollout of the 65" 4K OLEDs...).

Panasonic AX800

Panasonic offers the TC-65AX800U 65" Class for $2,999.99 (http://*******/1xkULd0) and the TC-58AX800U 58" Class for $1,999.99 on their website. Will this group accept this model as the brand's flagship until the AX900 hits the street?

Check the lead post - the 65AX800 is a sub-flagship and is already listed (at the $3000 price).

Actually, just dropped to $2,330 with free shipping from Amazon and I picked one up. Worth a shot, we will see if it is garbage or not.

Finally, someone is taking one for the team. Start an Official owners thread with a short review and a few pics if you can. Make sure you purchase it from Amazon directly instead of a 3rd party vendor in case you have to return.

Hope all goes good with the shipping this time. That thing just keeps getting cheaper and cheaper. 65" 4K for $1995 pretty soon. I think Costco might start carrying them. The one near me had the 2013 Toshiba 4K, the 65L9300U, for $1500 on clearance.

I got fed up waiting for the Vizio R-series and I was tired of my POS 39" polaroid TV (yes that is a TV brand, cough). So I went to Costco and picked up the Vizio 70" P-series. I have a 90 day return window, so in case R-series makes an appearance I have a chance to upgrade.
For now I am enjoying this beast!

Nebraska Furniture Mart in Kansas City, KS has the Toshiba 58L8400U for $749 and the 65L9400U for $899. Ad was in the 12/26 newspaper and does not appear on their website.

These were still in stock on Friday evening. I went ahead and picked up the 65" to give it a try.

Not sure about the Omaha and Texas locations for those prices. If you're not familiar with the Mart they obviously have furniture but are also a huge electronics/television dealer. Appears Toshiba is liquidating them...
