Whatever Samsung does, you can bet that LG will probably do the same, and vice versa. Case in point: 105" 21:9 curved UHDTVs with a pixel resolution of 5120x2160, which both companies introduced at CES. LG's includes a premium Harman/Kardon 7.2 audio system with a total power of 150W, and it sounded quite good, creating a fairly convincing virtual surround soundfield. Even more importantly, the LG model uses full-array backlighting with local dimming.

LG's 105" 21:9 curved UHDTV looked great, and the Harman/Kardon audio system sounded great as well. At this size, a curved screen starts to make some sense.

I am glad to see LG and Vizio jumping into the FALD big time.
With OLED having burn in problems like plasma and being expensive FALD will buy LCD some more time.
