Hi,

I have been going through the news from CES 2014, and have less than thrilled about curved TV sets and I don't see anything coming out in the near future that warrants any excitement in this size. I currently have a 70" XBR rear projection, and wanted to get excited about maybe a 75 inch or possibly an 80" unit from the show. While there are lots of potential, such as OLED and the 10 bit Dolby standard, I am at a loss. Samsung has the U8550, which might fit the bill, but not a lot of info. Did I miss something? If you were in my shoes, would you wait another year?

Thanks!

All the exciting news are pretty much relegated to the top end, high priced TVs, so it depends on what your budget is, and what exactly you're looking for in a new TV i.e. 3D, 4K, etc... if you are relatively content with your current set, I would wait a year and see if the prices drop on the newer models which offer full-array, local-dimming, at least.

I think a Vizio P series 4K 70 inch FALD for 2,599.00 retail is something to WOW about after 7,000.00 65 inch TV'S without HMDI 2.0.

TV'S are now things! I had the same felling's when Samsung came out with their FALD LED LNT-81F series. I did wait and the price was 1/3 of what it came out at. they did not sell, I think it was the, WHAT IS LED? MODE. I was glad in 2007, I still think this TV is great.
. 70" XBR rear projection! Wow you did hold out a long time!
