I currently have a Panasonic 58" VT25 in my living room. There is nothing wrong with this TV, but eventually I plan to move it into our bedroom. I really like picture on my TV and compare it often with my father-in-law's Samsung LED (3yr old 7k series). His LED does seem to have a sharper picture, but has a lot of issues with motion (could be the cable provider) and the whites are too bright.
I don't "need" to replace my TV now, but with the Panasonic plasmas in short supply, I feel the need to pickup a new VT60 now before they're gone. I'm also interested in a Samsung 8000 series LED, and because of where I live, I cannot view these sets before purchase.
Between the F8000 and VT60, which would you choose and why?
Are motion artifacts a thing of the past with Samsung? Will I get the same motion detail as my current VT25?
This will be in my family room that has some built cabinetry to host the television. I can fit a 60" plasma in the space, but could squeeze a 65" LED. We do have a wall of windows in this room that are to one side of the TV. These windows are north facing so we don't get any direct sunlight, but it can be bright at times. We use the family room for most watching, this includes regular TV shows and movies. In the future I plan to setup the basement with a full home theater.
I'm using the VT 25 TV speakers for now and they seem to get the job done. The VT60 appears to have a very good built-in speaker setup that the Samsung lacks. If I went with the Samsung, I may need to purchase some sort of audio enhancements. This would add additional cost of course. Can anyone comment on audio output of the VT60 and/or F8000?
