Background:
I currently have a Panasonic 58" VT25 in my living room. There is nothing wrong with this TV, but eventually I plan to move it into our bedroom. I really like picture on my TV and compare it often with my father-in-law's Samsung LED (3yr old 7k series). His LED does seem to have a sharper picture, but has a lot of issues with motion (could be the cable provider) and the whites are too bright.

Issue:
I don't "need" to replace my TV now, but with the Panasonic plasmas in short supply, I feel the need to pickup a new VT60 now before they're gone. I'm also interested in a Samsung 8000 series LED, and because of where I live, I cannot view these sets before purchase.

Question:
Between the F8000 and VT60, which would you choose and why?
Are motion artifacts a thing of the past with Samsung? Will I get the same motion detail as my current VT25?

Environment:
This will be in my family room that has some built cabinetry to host the television. I can fit a 60" plasma in the space, but could squeeze a 65" LED. We do have a wall of windows in this room that are to one side of the TV. These windows are north facing so we don't get any direct sunlight, but it can be bright at times. We use the family room for most watching, this includes regular TV shows and movies. In the future I plan to setup the basement with a full home theater.

Other Notes:
I'm using the VT 25 TV speakers for now and they seem to get the job done. The VT60 appears to have a very good built-in speaker setup that the Samsung lacks. If I went with the Samsung, I may need to purchase some sort of audio enhancements. This would add additional cost of course. Can anyone comment on audio output of the VT60 and/or F8000?

The F8000 is a very fast display and offers their great micro dimming ultimate local dimming scheme. Ultimate combines their fine tuning pixel software with hardware based edge dimming and cinema black which turns off LED's top and bottom of display during widescreen material.
Panasonic's VT60 is easily one of the best plasma displays made this side of the Pioneers Elite (Kuro). They are being heavily discounted,so they are offering a top tier display which is highly affordable.
While the F8000 is a very impressive LED based display it still suffers from motion issues seen by LCD based displays, but much better environmental display (theater room/bright room). Panasonic while much better with their light filters can still suffer from bright room wash out.
I game,so I would without a doubt go with the samsung for ease of use (no burn in and yes it still exist). Since you have owned a panasonic, you know the mild care needed in the early life of a plasma. For your needs I would say the VT60 would be a much more well rounded display for you, but my usage is 90% gaming 10% film/TV.
Samsung while offering a ultra thin wonderfully styled display is lacking in the audio department for sure. The panasonic on the other hand if the ST60 is any indication of Panasonics audio capability for 2013 you would be better served with the VT60. The ST60 was one of the best sounding "built in" audio set-ups I have heard. The woofer offered some impressive bass to films like pacific rim and the Avengers without losing dialogue in the mix like mast thin displays. I believe the VT60 is even better,so it seems like a safe bet.

F8000 = Brighter, can help in a really bright room.

VT60 = Better in everything else.

The F8000 is one of the better edge lits but to say something is the best of a terrible technology is not saying much at all.
