Hello all, am contemplating a tremendous upgrade. Currently have a Panasonic 55" VT50, was going to grab the last of the VT60s, but since retailers are jacking up the price, I figured I might as well get an 80-90" TV for a little more.

1. What's the best? Money is no object.

2. Will I be disappointed going from the legendary Panasonic plasma picture to an LCD? (Absolute darkness in viewing area - the basement)

Also considering a receiver change, currently have Denon 5308ci, want to get Harman Kardon 3700, because I've always had HK's and loved them. And I would like to buy an American company's product over Japanese, which is why I disqualified the Marantz.

1. Will I be disappointed going from a flagship receiver to HK's? I had 3 HK's before the Denone and loved them all. Also, don't remember thinking there was much of a difference between my previous HK and the Denon and definitely NOT a $5,000 difference.

2. Should I go with separates (processor and amp)? Are they that much better?

Please advise. Thank you all.

65" Samsung F8500 - Marantz SR6009 - Oppo Blu-Ray Player
2 KEF iQ90 L&R - KEF iQ60c Center - 4 KEF iQ8ds Di-Pole Surrounds - KEF PSW2500 Sub
Xbox 360 - Xbox One - PS4 - ASUS G751

If money is no object than a used Sharp Elite Pro 70" should be selling for under $5-6,000. You'll have to search around Amazon's marketplace, eBay & tech specific sites like AVSforum classified sections to buy it.

That is the best LCD (it's over 3 years old), but hasn't been topped yet.
It would have a better picture than even your VT50.

A new line from Vizio called the "R" series is coming out this year in sizes 65" & 120" & could be even better, but no price has been announced.

Your in luck, Sony announced it's 950 series & it will come in an 85" size!
It'll set you back $25,000, but the local dimming on it should be reference levels.
