I saw the M701D R display unit at costco and its for sale. I originally had though of getting the 80' but the price of this 70" display is ALomost $1500 less than the 80".

Also, this is last years model, so should I buy last years model? should I buy the display unit. It has the same 90 day return (its a hassle) and i can but extra 3 years warranty through square trade.

Would you guys advise buying this tv? are the owners happy?

The only concern is that one the seating positions is about 15 feet away, so initially the 70 might look big but will I regret not buying the 80'.

you may not regret buying 80 inch, but you will regret not buying the 4k newer model coming out May/June.

So are all the newer model going to be 4K and in the same price range as the current ones. I thought 4k were expensive and haven't taken mainstream momentum.

I can't believe that except for one person no one has responded. this forum is full of experts, but none to chime in their expert opinion and help out a fellow member.

I, too, have a similar question...

I am looking at 70" Vizio sets and am stumped. Should I buy today's M701d-A3R for $2,098, wait for the M702i at an MSRP of $1,899 or get a P702ui for $2,599 MSRP? I, too, have some 3D blu-rays that I've purchased anticipating buying a 3D set. Will I miss 3D? Is 3D dead as Vizio seems to think? 4k is tempting but I sure wish it was 3D... What a conundrum...

I really don't need 3D, if the newer m701i will be MSRP of $1899 then I think I might wait, but i think you need 3D then I guess you have buy 2013 model as the 2014 vizio models won't have 3D.

Indeed it is: http://store.vizio.com/news/vizio-announces-2014-e-series-and-m-series-hdtv-collections (Also see: http://ces.vizio.com/m-series.html)

The wife doesn't want 3D but I know my 10 year old son would love it. I am OK without it. I'm really leaning toward waiting for the $2,599 P702ui Ultra-HD (4k) set: http://store.vizio.com/news/vizio-announces-pricing-for-best-in-class-p-series-ultra-hd-full-array-led-smart-tv (Also see: http://ces.vizio.com/p-series.html)

You posted on a Saturday at dinner time (east coast anyway). Many forum members are watching their TVs with their friends on a Saturday night (or other things) rather than cruising forums waiting to answer random questions.

People here are helpful if you give them time to answer.

[I myself answered last night when you duplicated your question in a post in one of the M-series threads last night. I hadn't seen this thread before that.]
