I may have fixed my ARC flakyness yesterday. Too soon to tell.
Naw its still there. I only have slight hiccups once in a while. My bt connection is way worse. However the sound way better than my arc. I find that weird. I still use the arc though because its more stable.

I dont have 5.1 like you guys just the samsung soundbar and subwoofer combo from 2014.

Actually the S9 is Micro Dimming Ultimate Plus with Precision Black Pro Local Dimming. I am guessing the Plus and Pro identify it as FALD but Samsung has so many little marketing titles for things it it may well just mean more dimming zones and no telling just how many more.

That's what I assumed it just referred to dimming zones instead of backlight type. I believe another member is going to test the set in person so maybe we can figure out if it's backlit or not.

I'm the member who volunteered to do that in another topic. But I would appreciate any suggestions on how to test that in anything other than a subjective manner.

The only thing that I can think of that should be a decent test is the sony promo (2014 Bravia promo) with the singer in the red dress. I don't know where to download it, but I believe it is on youtube as well. This should be a good test with the spotlights etc. when I saw the x900b and x950b playing this I could see the difference.

Had the same nonsense happen to me yesterday with hu9000 and denon 3312, went into self diagnostics on the tv then test sound and it fixed it......

Does anyone else have an issue with their Netflix only outputting Stereo? I have this issue on both my HU8550 and my F900 with 2014 One Connect box. I just had a very disappointing chat with Netflix support where they say I am the first to report such an issue. It is a known issue over in the SEK-2500U/ZA 2014 Evolution Kit thread on the F9000.

How are people wall mounting the hu9000 with the box that comes with it?

I plan on wall mounting the hu9000 with my avr/dvr in the basement(wires already run). I don't have a tv stand/cabinets under the wall mounted tv. Are you guys just stuffing the box in the mount somewhere?

Performed a complete calibration on my 65" U8550 today using Calman 5, i1Pro and Colorfacts 7.5 (for signal generating of patterns). Got a grey scale Delta E of 1.8 just using the 2 point adjustment (green was off the most) and a gamma of 2.3. In auto mode color gamut for primary and secondaries was so close it was not worth the effort to mess with. Its a great set with vibrant colors, good black levels and fairly uniform screen. Side by side , next to my Kuro 151D, its a close call but if viewing head on (no angle) I will take the Samsung

So I just noticed that I can't change the video ratio via picture mode aka zoom when watching movies in 3d from my ps3 I was able to do so on the LG I owned before is this something specific to samsung hu9000 or am I doing something wrong? I really don't like seeing the black bars when watching 3d.

So ARC stopped working again, resorted to just using optical out but now when i select DTS neo 2:5 i have no sound using netflix; however, dolby digital seems to work and I know that if I do a reset it will all work again even the ARC. It just seems that 2 resets in 2 days that own the tv seems too much I guess i will just settle for dolby digital and no ARC until maybe some future update fixes all this...

Why would you do that, it eliminates the whole purpose of watching a good picture on your tv. Zoom in it distorts and gives you a crappy picture regardless of the tv.

Agreed. Only picture size is screen fit. Ever.

After watching HU9000, I decided that curved screen is really a bad idea, specially on subtitles and text like from news or stock market informations !

I don't watch tv in the dark - my sets always have a small amount of back lighting when all lights are down (never completely off) . I do not consider 60"-65" adequate size for serious home theater application - theses are just general purpose tv's. If I was going for a dark room set up I would go front projector. The weakness of the Samsung is off center viewing and some motion blur. The colors on the Samsung are more accurate and it has better dynamic range plus the apps and the hub provide overwhelming content. The weakness of the Panasonic are lower light output - inability to obtain perfect rec 709 color space (although close) and lack of integration into internet without 3rd party hardware. It all depends what is most important to you.

I know with a checkerboard test pattern the Kuro measures lower black level but in a real work application, my living room, I am satisfied with black level and overall contrast capability of the Samsung. In the last 10 years I have bought 9 tv's: 6 plasma's, 1 dlp and 2 lcd. Only 3 had met my black level standards - Kuro, U8550, and the Samsung DLP (which had an array of other issues).
