Found what appears to be the first 2014 in the wild. The 47LB6100 (costco version) is the 240hz (120hz panel with BLS) mid tier Smart LED. I was impressed by the styling on a $599 set, let know what you think.[IMG]

Picked One up for a bedroom TV and this thing is going back. I understand that it considered entry/mid level with 120hz/240hz BLS,but this the slowest IPS panel I have seen. The vertical sync is jacked on all content. Watching Pacific Rim a stellar movie for showing sets capability, this thing fell as flat as its image depth. My F6800 is stunning every detail captured showing 3D image depth with out need of glasses, deep black level (for a mid-tier edge lit) and fantastic motion performance. Every in game or movie camera panning causes the entire picture to sheer and shutter as the camera moves causing an escalator style stairstep across the screen. Uniformity is some of worse I have seen invading all content making for areas teeming is washed with a yellow glow ton the already gray blacks. The styling from a distants is fantastic until you see that every piece is cheap plastic. Ugh I could go on for days, but I stop

Woah, didn't expect these to be out already!

Did they have the 47LB6300 equivalent or any other 2014 LG TVs?

Does your model come with WebOS?

No all they had was the LB6100 (6000 for other retailers) and an H5500 Samsung which I almost picked up,but the LG offered 7 more inches for around $40. It does not have webOS or the wand control either. I believe it only ships with the LB7100,7200,6500 and 6300.
I have seen the Samsung H6350 and H6400 in the wild as well.

Ahh, really looking forward to getting the LB6300 model but my local Costco has only ever had 1 LG TV, so I wonder if they'll even carry any of the 2014 LG models.

Were the viewing angles on your LB6100 good? That's something I'd expect it to be better at than the Samsung PVA panels.

Where'd you see the H6350 in the wild?

What you saw had nothing to do with the speed of the IPS panel. Your description sounds like typical artifacts caused by motion interpolation. Did you try turning it off? As far as blacks, they can be a shock if you are used to VA panels. Nothing unusual for an IPS panel though.

Yeah all Tru-motion settings were off, but it seems as though there is something still being employed while off. I tried everything from labeling the HDMI PC/Game, so that would usually disengage all post processing on LG TV's I have owned IPS panel before with the LM7600 which for an IPS was pretty impressive with black level and shadow detail.

Just brought mine home today. Returned a Vizio 48 inch which was awful. was looking for the other LG 47 that was at Target for 599-that was a 120hz-this is a steal! GREAT pic right outta the box! Wow! Kudos to Costco! LG itself first told me it was an old discontinued model when i couldn't find any specs on the internet anywhere-then put me on hold and got it right.its a brand new for 2014 just like the box says! It actually rivals my giant sony bravia! Amazing!

wow, just goes to show u. have heard people, and even CNET rave bout Vizio for the last few years now. Colors, motion,u name it,couldn't have been worse. costco no questions asked return policy is great. Surprised by the one negative review so far. Think he got a lemon. hope he can return it.  again so happy with mine....so far!

That sounds great! I had the 47LA6200, which CNET hated but all the other reviews by people were excellent. I exchanged it for a Samsung 46F6300 and I really regret it. I am still within the 90 day period where I can return it, and I'd really like to get one of these new LG TVs.

Did you see whether they have any LG TVs with WebOS? OR was this the only 2014 LG TV they had?

Wed OS is the former HP mobile internet suite that LG bought and now powers their smart function.

Beautiful color and no judder or blur at all . I'm waiting for Costco to knock on my door and say there's been some mistake! What a great deal!

First hiccup ...........COPLAND on AMC...........has judder with tru motion on or off. Guess it's the film because there was none on any of the sports I was watching. Even those jump cutting shows on discovery ID was fine. Any ideas out there?

Saw boxes of the 6100 at Costco today but they were running a cartoon blu-ray loop making it difficult to form any opinion good or bad. It appears to have SmartTV functionality but without WebOS? Could anyone comment on the SmartTV functionality and what apps or services are available, Amazon , HBO2GO, etc. I need to replace old TV and spec wise, it seems like a good option.

Not a techie but particular. Can't say enuff bout this tv now. A STEAL at 599 at Costco. Smart tv apps are fine. All the usual customers plus Crackle and Snag. Picture quality is great. Rivals my Sony Bravia in my livingroom. Actually just mounted it also on a Altra Furniture bracket which supposedly is good for tvs up till 37 inches and 65 lbs. had a 40 inch 45 lb samsung on it before and it was perfectly fine. The LG only weighs 27 lbs so I gave it a try.......same m6 screws so it fits perfectly! HIGHLY recommend giving this tv a try! Costco for 599. Cc.

lmartinijr1:

Does your 6100 have apps for Amazon and/or HBO GO?

2014 LG were supposedly supporting Dish Virtual Joey app, do you see a "DISH" app listed?

Are there options to download additional apps from LG?

I just saw the LB6100 series sets in my local Costco. I pulled down the spec sheet from LG but it didn't have much detail. Contrast ratio? Backlighting tech? Input delay? You know, all that hard number, sciencey stuff people at AVS get all frothy about.

It looks like we have one review from the start of this thread from a person who hated the set, and one person who thinks it's great. Can we put any numbers or measurements with any of that?

I'm trying to hold out for a 2014 Vizio M series (with spiffy full array local dimming backlighting). But these LB6100 series sets seem to be pretty much on par for price and features other than the backlighting.

Also just know what's on spec sheet. Is there anywhere on the tv itself I can look and help u out with? I have a sony 55 kdl ex640 in my living room and the LG is definitely comparable. Like I mentioned before don't understand why this set is only 599. I am extatic about it so far lots of apps, great picture, sound, smart tv works great also. If there's anything u want me to try and look up for u let me know.
