Question

Does anyone know which panel the 55x900b has???? The info will be greatly appreciated.

Ticking away.. the moments that make up a dull day.

Cheers

They're damned near perfect, and I only needed another notch down in the B gain to get it bang on. Excellent dE's for both greyscale and colour, very tight RGB levels and consistent colour temperature averaging 6493K, and I *think* that the red tint has been done away with.

I ONLY copied the white balance settings though, as the rest of my settings are quite different. But, in any case, thanks again Sammie.
Nice! Good to hear I'm glad they worked out for you.

Really looking forward to weekend after next when I get this set.

Couple of questions:
  1. Wall mounting - how close to the wall can this set be when wall mounted?, I notice from the manual that you have to attach some large screws to flatten out the wedge
  1. I'm planning to file up all the ports with cables that the replicator doesn't cover, as won't be able to access them once wall mounted. For HDMI 4 what's the best cable to get? Incase I get the media player?

i know this might have been beaten to death but i haven't had a chance to read through the entire thread yet...I know 900b has local dimming over the 850 but other than that any speakers any substantial differences between the 900b and 850b sets? I have personally had both, but had the 850 which had an issue and then bought the 900b so never saw them side by side. Im in a position where I want to buy another set either 65-900b or 65-850b, thoughts?

Thanks in advance

The most economical set-up?

I'm going to pull the trigger on the xbr-65x900b. This is to replace my older 55-Inch Projection TV in my 14' x 30' media room. I also have an older Yamaha AV receiver 5.1 surround system, which doesn't even have HDMI...

My question is, what do I need in the way of AV equipment (if any) to be able to:
  • Listen to XM, Pandora
  • and possibly, my CD's
  • connect my PS3
  • play my DVD and Blu-Ray's
  • Watch Netflix, Amazon Prime
  • TiVo
These are my absolute minimum needs...

I'm on Comcast xfinity (SF Bay Area) and have 55+ mbps download & 6 +/- mbps upload thru a DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem ... I'm also running a MoCA network with a TiVo Premiere XL4/Mini - but not into this room (but I do have a MoCA outlet).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.... The wife would like one remote, BTW.

I have some questions. I am seriously thinking about buying the Sony X900b.

How are the speakers on the 900b? If paired with a sub, how does the sound compare with the Sony HtST7 sound bar?

How does the x900b handle the motion during sports (i.e., Football, Baseball, and Basketball)? Is the 900b a 10 bit panel? Also is there a preferred panel, like how Samsung TS01 vs TH01?

I used my own USB with content I got off the internet to see the PQ and I have to say the PQ on the 900b is better than the Sammy HU9000. I was impressed. The Best Buy employees were simply blown away at the 900b's PQ. They were begging to make a copy of my USB drive.

I am new to the 900B, just getting acquainted with mine. Quick question. Pairing it with Comcast X1 box, unfortunately best option for me. The comcast box comes set with its output at 720p. Should I switch it to the 1080p 60HD or keep at 720 and let the Sony scale?

Hey Guys. I am deciding on whether or not I should replace my 58" plasma. I am debating between the 70" 850B and the 65" 900B. I am not sure if my money is better spent on the extra 5 inches which I know I'll appreciate, or the extra tech (better dimming, better motion blur reduction(I watch a lot of golf a sport that can be very prone to the blur effect)). I also do not care for the speakers very much, but am willing to live with them if the PQ is worth it. I am also considering waiting to see what the near future holds. I do my watching 50/50 day and night and watch mostly sports and movies as well as play a little games. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I don't have any sound-bar or home theater. If the sub-woofer really worth its price tag? around $350 in Australia.

Since the greater amount of HD channels are 1080i you are losing resolution by downgrading it to 720p output. I recommend you set it to the highest output possible.

I watched Game of Thrones on my computer and the quality was amazing. The natural skin colors and Cristal clear picture on a 3 gigabyte file at 1920 X 1080 resolution and a crappy $40 video card.

The sound is OK if you live in an apartment.  I think  a sound system would be better. I am going to buy the Boss Cinemate 1RS soundbar system.

Netflix is ok... not being able to adjust all picture settings is stupid. 4K looks good ....not much avaliable.

the sony 4K media player is not worth buying..unless you have the money  . A good Blueray player with 4k upscaling will do ok for now.

I bought my TV Stand from target. Ikea had a lot of cheap stands.

Very happy with the TV. Solid blacks with bright whites...bright reds....a light "pink purple" color that I have never seen on a TV before.

Is it worth $5,000? If you have the money ...yes... If not buy the old model before they sell out.

I would like to thank you all  for you help and support. ....

Holy man, you might lay off on the resolution and the detailing... 99 and high?

Also neutral is way off from 6,500 k... warm 2 is where you want to be.
Hello, I just bought this TV a month ago and haven't been happy with the screen performance at all. Could you elaborate on your settings? I have been a long time fan and member of AVS and am trying to catch up with this thread as quickly as possible. But I would very much appreciate any input that might improve my picture.

Sincere Thanks,

Ricky
