Wholesale is also double I get the 900b for $3100 and the 950b $6150 but labor day week dealers get a rebate of 500 off so it be 5450 that still insane.

I have personally had both, but had the 850 which had an issue and then bought the 900b so never saw them side by side. Im in a position where I want to buy another set either 65-900b or 65-850b, thoughts?

Thanks in advance
I own the 79". In my opinion, at 65" and under, better black performance is more important.

Couple of questions:
  1. Wall mounting - how close to the wall can this set be when wall mounted?, I notice from the manual that you have to attach some large screws to flatten out the wedge
  1. I'm planning to file up all the ports with cables that the replicator doesn't cover, as won't be able to access them once wall mounted. For HDMI 4 what's the best cable to get? Incase I get the media player?
Look on my post covering a bias light I attached to the rear of my 79" in the XBR-79X900B owners thread. It has a picture of the rear of the set with the longer stand-off posts attached. It will give you a good idea of how close you can get to the wall.

Any good quality HDMI cable rated for Ultra high speed.

How are the speakers on the 900b? If paired with a sub, how does the sound compare with the Sony HtST7 sound bar?

How does the x900b handle the motion during sports (i.e., Football, Baseball, and Basketball)? Is the 900b a 10 bit panel? Also is there a preferred panel, like how Samsung TS01 vs TH01?

I used my own USB with content I got off the internet to see the PQ and I have to say the PQ on the 900b is better than the Sammy HU9000. I was impressed. The Best Buy employees were simply blown away at the 900b's PQ. They were begging to make a copy of my USB drive.

As part of the deal with my wife, I moved my 5.1 speaker setup to the mancave and just use the on board speakers with the 79". They are very good, but need a subwolfer to fill in the bottom. You don't need the Sony companion sub. I hooked up my old sub to the 79". A picture and directions are in the XBR-79X900B owners thread.

There was basically a spotlight shining on the singer and the audience was all around her but hidden in the dark. Yet the 950b was able to display the audience quite well.

Also when the Sony logo popped up the difference between the white of the logo and the black was eye popping as well. Having seen them back to back it is very difficult for me to go go the 900b route though I really want the 79 inch size.
I have the 79". I agree with your observations and despite the poorer black performance, I went with the larger size. I don't regret it. But, I view the 79" as an interim set waiting for OLED to provide BOTH size and black performance at a comparable price to the 79"--I figure about the same wait as for greater availability of native 4K material.

Thank you very much for your reply. I am going to pull the trigger on the 65" x900b very soon. Is there anything else I should know about this set. I plan for it to be my main set for 4-5 years.
