I have the same issue and reducing the brightness to 30 will solve issue but will darken the screen... I guess no tv is perfect no matter what cost.
I went to BB yesterday with a USB stick and put at a full screen light gray background on a few of their sets. From reading a bunch of reviews i know that Sony is prone to clouding and radial banding but i did not expect things to be this bad. Here are my subjective observations:
700w900b - terrible clouding on about 3/4 of the panel as well as one huge and a few smaller radial bands on pretty much the entire right half of the panel
65x850b - significant clouding in 4 areas, two in the center left side of the panel, one on the right edge and one on the lower left edge; no banding however
65x900b - no significant clouding but one somewhat noticeable radial band on the right side of the panel, quite noticeable when viewed off center
78x900b - minor clouding as well as a few radial band on both sides of the panel, quite noticeable when viewed off center
I wonder if these are just defective units returned to the store or are these models really that prone to these issues.
What were the experiences of the owners in this thread?
I'm trying to decide between 65x900 and 70x850 now.
