This is based on posts I've read here on the board. I've read of someone who received the 950B as a replacement, no charge. And I've also read where Sony offered the 950B and the person paid a part of the difference in price.

If I were you I'd ask for the 950B as a replacement free of charge. If they flat out say no, then offer to pay part of it.

This is my plan. My eyes lit up when they said "we're choosing a better or comparable model to offer you." That only meant 950b or 930c to me.

Today, my TV has rebooted TWICE....
I was watching DareDevil 4K on netflix, and my TV just shut down... my wife then tells me that it did it earlier also...

Anyone else experience this?

Ahhh.. I see. If you have a surround sound system, ask for the 950B, if not, ask for the 930C.

Mine has done this a few times also when watching Netflix, I figured it was the app or something.

Also mine will go into a hard lock if I try to play a mkv file through the built in Media Player.

Current Sets:
Sony XBR65X900B Samsung UN65JS9000 LG 55EC9300
PN64F8500 Plasma SOLD ;(

Different story when they called today. They said they're gonna send a 950 only if the 900 is out of stock. Little disappointed but I just want a TV that works properly. My 900b looks awful right now.

Good that they're being specific at least. When my fabled but infamous XBR8 went down (a sad, sad day) a few years ago, apparently "top of the line"/"comparable or better" meant bundled with all sorts of (cheap to add) apps, but an inferior picture quality that wasn't even true backlit. They wouldn't go up to the current top of the line which was only edgelit anyway, and I ended up having to go down in size to the 52" to get the backlit array again. The guy was all "but this one has Youtube" or whatever (can't remember the app but it was that sort of thing). I told him I had games consoles and a Sony BD player anyway so I was covered. I just wanted what they said - comparable or better quality.

So yeah, basically "better or comparable" is a very slippery term with Sony. And it took months of constant calls to settle it. It's news to no-one that they make great tellies but their service is horrible. I'm hoping the new models have better 3d than the last.

I suffer from sexy dyslexia - I prefer black bras on my screen.

If you truly want the 950 then offer to pay the difference. Otherwise you are asking them to give you a superior product than what you purchased to start with for free.

Sony was the ones who mentioned they were going to give me a better model. I have no intention of requesting a 950 unless I get another 900 set that is screwed up.

Did anybody here use the offer with the 4K privilege films you got on a USB HDD?

I've got the Disk, but cannot for the life of me find the app you need to play them. Bummed out
Any help?

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Are you referring to how to play videos from a USB stick or HD on the 900B?

Hi everyone, I'm having some pretty bad back lighting issues and discoloration along the vertical edges of my 65x900b. BB is telling me that some of this is normal. I'm on the latest software update. Is this way above normal?

Try the settings posted here in the below post. The first and second post have 2 different setups. See if either makes things better. It looks like yours is in torch mode to me. (Post #2 is my settings)

these setting made my 65X900B look just like my HX929 picture!!
