I've been looking to upgrade my old 07 Samsung LCD 32' 720p tv. I've been looking at the new 2014 Vizios more so the new E420i and E400i tv. I came across this Panasonic tv. Its 39 inch and here are the specs.

http://shop.panasonic.com/shop/model/TC-39AS530U

39" Class Life+ Screen AS530 Series Smart LED LCD TV (38.5" Diag.)

Life+ Screen
my Home Screen
my Home Cloud
Remote Sharing
Web Browser
Swipe & Share
Native 120Hz refresh rate 240 BLB (Back Light Blinking)
1080p Full HD Resolution

This tv looks really nice compared to the vizios. I'm looking to use it in a bedroom for PS4 gaming. Any idea's if this tv is worth the purchase?

They are using VA panels instead of IPS,so contrast and overall black levels should be as good as comparable models. If they can manage to get rid of the over drive trailing found in the E60 of last year this could be the consumer priced performer. Panasonic has always had very good picture processing and in the last few year a lot of calibration controls built into their 1080p displays. I would be interested to see reviews. Best buy currently has the 39"-50" in stock, but the store near me has on the top row running the store loop.

I bought one of these. I am impressed with the picture over the 32" Panasonic (TC-L32-E3) it replaced, but not qualified to give a technical review...

Go check out the 39" JVC at Costco. it's a great tv for the price & better than the Vizio E series everyone talks about.

I found the 39" at Best Buy, but can't find any of the other models anywhere. I just ordered the 55" and 60" directly from Panasonic...

I purchased the 39" from Best Buy and have had some issues with ghosting. I can't find a game mode in the Panasonic's settings either?

Just purchased one of these. Does anyone have a guide to best settings as I am finding the picture a little 'fake' looking

I've been looking for more info/reviews on the AS530u, but have found very little.

I spend the weekend in stores looking at the AS530U models. It appears Panasonic is offering MVA panels on the AS400 and AS530 models and IPS panels on the AS640 and above. (The specs sheets on Panasonic's website indicate a viewing angle of 176 on AS530 and 178 on the AS650, pretty good evidence of MVA vs IPS)

The one semi detailed review was found here: televisions reviewed.com
Don't know how much the reviews can be trusted, but this site seems to think the AS530U Panasonic is better than the LG LB5800, 6200 and LB6300 models and equivalent to a Sony W600b or a Samsung F5500. (Both decent sets)

Another review: cnet

Another review (but no rating) was found at: Lcdtvbuyingguide

I have the 39AS530u, there is no game mode and testing
using Inputlag.exe shows a lag of 60ms. ( When I get the photos off my camera I will post a picture to confirm this)

No Sound using Netflix App with Soundbar

I find the picture is amazing on this TV. I have found that it is so good it does look a little fake so I will try recommended settings.
I am using it with a VIZIO S2920w-C0 29-inch 2.0 High Definition Sound Bar with Bluetooth.
I have turned the Panasonic Speakers off.
I had been using a Roku for Netflix but last night I decided to try the Panasonic's built-in Netflix App and got no sound while on Netflix.
I tried the You Tube built-in app and the sound works fine from the Vizio soundbar.
I tried switching from Auto to PCM and still no sound.
The only solution was to turn the Panasonic Speakers on which is not optimal.
Is this a Netflix issue?
Anyone have any thoughts how to resolve?
