And yours is the 78"?

I just don't think the two can be compared. Like the 55 and 65.

This is via netflix through samsungs smart hub on the tv so it's not coming from a connected source rather over the air via high speed wifi, over 100mbps. Let me know what you think and what's the best way to go about this issue.
Looks ok to me, and you will be able to eliminate by setting Smart LED to Low, standard or high.

I actually don't know what WOW is. I get 93mbps from Time Warner. I get a steady 2160 from Netflix, except at night when it varies from 2160 to 1080. What is your mbps from WOW?

WOW is an ISP, cable TV and I think land line phone provider. In recent Consumer Reports ratings, WOW is at the top and has been lately for service and product. I only have internet service from them at 15mbps.

Just got the 65 in. All I can say us so good. So. Damn. Good.

I have a hw h550 soundbar and they connected no issue.

The panasonic bdt360 player does in fact play movies better with 4k on. Its amazing.

I ended up with coraline for a 3d test. I am a 3d crazy. Love it. Its the best ive ever seen.

I dont have clouding. Perfect set. I dont see banding but of course I just got it.

Ill update. Literally the best buy I have ever done.

I was worried with abes of maine. I did pay 587 more than I planned and was advertised.

But the delivery was excellent.

The set is a ts01.

Wasn't disputing you. Think it's great that you're getting perfect reception. I guess some of us have to have higher mpbs to get it to that level. Bad pipes, so to speak.

Well shipping.
3 year in home warrannty.

But they said they would not send the 4 pairs of 3d glasses if I didnt pay the extra.

Agent frank I beleive said they could only send the tv. And still the lowest possible price was 3765. Even though they were adcertising it at 3200.

I found nice electronics too late. I would go with them if I had to do it again. And they offer money back if they lower the price right after purchase.

hut I Did get a 3yr in home warranty. That helps

Of course I never got the documents for it and mailed them today with a wtf.

Sorry I guess a perfect ts01 panel, 3 yr warranty, tv wall mount and charged 587 more than the adcertised.

I have the 78 inch as well and had much more pronounced bleeding/clouding than you and was able to get rid of them by doing the massaging trick. I noticed though that after doing it, it took another few days for the TV to settle and eventually, all of it went away!!
You could massage it some more in the lower left corner if you want and see.....

The panasonic bdt360 is better looking when you activate the 4k feature. Lines are sharper. And the colorrs better. The player is magnificent.

On a side note inuse comcast in colorado. Smurfs plays in 4k flawlessly.

price point

So I'm actively watching the 78 inch price (only checking 4-5 times a day now). .

What's the more experienced users around here think about where the price will be in September, December, and then around CES? Possible to forecast within some measure of believability?

Sony Xbr is definitely the better overall tv if you compare these two sets. And I'm talking X900b vs hu9000. No competition. It's also better for gaming with lower input lag

Well the hu9000 displays 4:4:4 content correctly. Has proper 3d and a better system to eliminate the soap opera effect.

You can say sony wins all you want.

But thats just fanboys raving about plama fans opinions.

The hu9000 is by far the superior set and the only 4k set to properly run content at 60 fps besides panasonic.

Sony is not even in that concersation.

Now lets talk upscaling system.

Samsung hu9000 can take a 480p isgnal and display it in almost 1080p level.

I tried for 3 months to give the sony a chance.

But ill prove its better with you right now.

There is a sony fanboy in our owners forum trying to tell us sony is better.

Well read our owners impressions. Now read sonys.

Wwe have way more happy owners.

Also we dont go to the sony thread to claim such things because we know the hu9000 is better.

You may go now.

I must say I'm not thrilled with the picture I'm getting from my set top box (Time Warner at 1080i) Close ups are fine, but long shots are not that detailed, almost blurry. The upscaling of the Samsung is trying to add pixels that are not there, so it seems to me it detracts from the picture. 4k from Netflix is fine. Been binge watching Breaking Bad and the picture is great, except for some dark scenes where it's a bit difficult to make out some detail in faces. I tried to calibrate, but decided to go back to factory settings, and mostly use Movie mode.

Anyone have some calibration numbers for daytime viewing from a set top box?

EDIT: Just compared it to my LG 42" Smart TV and I have to say the LG looks barely, marginally better. Maybe it's just the difference in screen size, but clearly the upscaling on the Samsung is not improving the picture.
