I can try leaving it on for awhile. It's probably been on a total of 2 hours...but not constant. I do have the internal speakers disabled...plugged into a Klipsch soundbar and sub about 15 minutes after getting everything setup on the initial Samsung screen. I thought the same thing, but I can toggle between internal and external speakers....doesn't seem to make a difference.

I did try switching outlets, but that didn't help. Will go turn it on for the day and leave it...see what happens.

Thanks

I have an old Samsung LNA650 LCD with great color and pretty good blacks.

I'm considering the 7150 or the 8550. The 60" 7150 is a great price, and 4K seems a bit dubious as essential. However, the dimming on the 8550 is better.

I love the look of both TVs in Best Buy and couldn't discern too much of a difference in PQ.

Thanks!!!
I was deciding between the 65" 7150 and the 65" 8550. The black levels on the 7150 are ok for an LED LCD. They are better on the 8550 from what I could tell, but the thing that sold me on the 7150 was watching a demo of DirecTV 1080p signal up-converted to 4K on the 8550. The difference was minimal between the 4K up-convert and the 7150 1080p signal. The text on the 8550 was a little bit sharper, but not worth the $1300 price difference.

Thanks! We have a smaller space, so for 55", the difference is only $600 not $1300. For that amount, having better blacks and the option to watch Breaking Bad in 4K seems worth it. Not for over $1000 more, though.

For only $600 more, I would have gone with the 8550. I almost went with the 55" 8550 instead of the 65" 7150 just cause I really liked the TV, but a lot of people said to go with size rather than 4K right now. My old TV was a 55" but it had a huge wide bezle so the physical size of that TV was close to the size of the 65" and I didn't want to get the same size TV and have it look smaller than the old one. I really do like the 7150, but the 8550 is a really nice TV.

I feel you about going bigger. I'm upgrading from a LN46A650 that still looks great and is going in the bedroom. We had a 60" in here for a second (mistake stress purchase, the 6400 which is going back Monday), and it just was too big. At about 6-7 feet from the set, things like regular cable and sports looked so pixellated.

65" would be really nice for letterbox movies though! Someday when I have a bigger living room . . .
