Tried a few different ones tonight (amazon basics, Monoprice, blue jeans, and rocket fish) with no improvement unfortunately. Switched it back to my rocket fish rednere cable just due to the smaller size and easier cable management.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

You should definitely upgrade to 1131.6

You won't need to change anything, especially since nothing on a general consumer level puts out 4k besides cell phones/tablets and computers. Unless you have that sony contraption.

I got netflix back today as well randomly and although it does 4k streaming it only plays in stereo unfortunately. Kinda missing half of the experience still so I'll be waiting to watch those 4k shows until DD5.1 works properly.

How do I upgrade to 1131.6? That option is not available via the software update, at least not on my TV. Is it available direct from the Samsung UK website? Aslo is 1140 not available in the UK? Apologies for all the questions.

It seems Samsung has removed firmware update links from all European support sites. I have no idea why.
1140 has not been released in Europe (yet).

I have direct link to European 1131.6 firmware, but considering Samsung removed links to this firmware, maybe there are problems with this firmware? I personally haven't had any problems with this firmware, so i don't know.

Thank poisike. I think I am best to stick with the 1123 for the time being. It seems that the US have sorted the firmware issues out now so I would assume that the UK will not be too far behind.

No problem. Like i said, 1131.6 works for me, it's just strange that Samsung removed it from support pages and from OTA server.

1130.9 was the firmware that caused problems (gray blacks) and 1131.6 fixed these problems again. So what ever you do, don't install 1130.9.

Color "little less vivid" because I presume your card is outputting 4:2:0 video (i.e., doesn't have HDMI 2 and only way to get 4K/60 over HDMI 1.4x is with the 4:2:0). Not unusual for 4:2:0 to look a little less intense/vivid.

But did it output 4k/60 before the Beta? If not, it was using 4:2:2 or 4:4:4 color. Going to 4k/60 over HDMI 1.4x forced it to go to 4:2:0. It's not the HDMI 1.4x, it's the color the beta driver is forced to use because it's outputting 4k/60 and doesn't have HDMI 2.0. But in a way we are saying the same thing, just in a different way.

Huh? Sony is not the only company to support 4K. Cell phones/tablets and computers were the beginning. We are here now with 4K television. Real 4K can be broadcast using the right software. And are we not consumers? I hope I misunderstood you. In the meantime, stay in your 1080 world while we progress to 3840x2160 resolution.
Btw, Netflix DOES broadcast in 5.1. The text on-screen may say "stereo", but it is in fact Dolby Digital (my Oppo blu ray player displays Netflix is broadcast in Dolby Digital Plus).

Yes, Netflix outputs DD 5.1 on every other device I have, but I don't get 5.1 channels from the SEK-2500U Netflix app.
You are correct that it does not matter what the app itself says. My PS3 Netflix app is also showing that it plays stereo but I get DD5.1 from it without any problems.

When i use SEK-2500U Netflix app, my Yamaha RX-A2030 receiver shows it is getting DD5.1 from TV but only front speakers are outputting sound.
I get DD5.1 without any problems from all other apps (Vudu, Amazon Instant Video) and TV channels. This problem is only with Netflix app on SEK-2500U.

I have seen two people say that they have DD5.1 audio with the new 1140 firmware. Can anyone confirm that they actually get sound from all 6 speakers?

I will have to check my Netflix app as well. Now that you mention it, I didn't experience surround sound last night while watching Netflix through the SEK 2500 (even though receiver displayed 5.1). I was sure that my center channel worked because when in stereo I switch to open up the center channel.
Thanks for pointing that out.

This may sound newbie like, but how can i tell which firmware my f9000 is currently running. When i go into the menu settings, i see where it says software update the version listed is v2101. You guys say v1140 is out. What gives? I bought the tv about 2 months ago. Ive been following this specific topic, patiently waiting to know when the bugs were worked out of the 2014 one connect box. Sooo.... Is it safe now to purchase and install this new box?

in Nvidia control panel, select "Adjust desktop color settings" and at the bottom change "RGB" to "YCbCr444

It's not really 444, but it improves the color.

I don't get any sound from surround and center speakers. Only two front speakers are working. Strangely my receiver shows that it gets 5.1 and all speakers are working.

I have had this problem from the start. Samsung has released 4 firmware updates and 3 Netflix app updates, but the problem is still there, so I'm wondering if they even know about this problem.
It seems HU9000/HU8500 owners have the same issue. These TVs are using the same firmware and same Netflix app version as our SEK-2500U.

I would be skeptical of an inexpensive receivers ability to change the color encoding. However, within a few months there will be new video boards with HDMI 2.0 outputs that will output 4:4:4 or 4:2:2.

If your firmware says 2101 then you have the original one connect box installed, once you do a Evolution Kit Backup then swap out the one connect with the Evolution Kit your firmware will show 1140.3

You must still be on the old original one connect box. V.1140 is the newest firmware for the new one connect box (SEK 2500U).
That is the way we F9000 owners get 4K.
Most people aren't having many issues with theirs except the sound from Netflix is only stereo. Take the plunge, and good luck!!

Sooo.... Is it safe now to purchase and install this new box?
Just be sure to do the Evolution Kit backup on your existing box before connecting the new box or it won't work. The instructions with the new box are pretty simple.

It will certainly add a faster processor for the smart hub and you will also see PQ improvements in most cases as well. The general consensus on the One connect for the 2013 4k displays (now that the firmware is sorted out) has been an overall improvement in peformance across the board.
Samsung seems to have figured what other manufacturers have attempted in the past, too keep those that have already paid for a product to continue paying for it year after year.
We saw the same thing from console manufacturers in the late 80's early 90's like like Atari's "toilet lid" jaguar cd-rom ad on, Sega's 32x and Sega CD. Unlike those gimmicky stop gap failures it seems Samsung has gotten it right. Since most consumers can't afford to drop $3-6,000 every year for a flagship display, $3-400 for some of the latest specs is an easier pill to swallow.
