Oh not that I know of, I was just talking about streaming in general. It looks great but not 4K great.

I am still using the Cnet setting for the most part but am playing around with them a bit to zero in. I ordered the Disney WOW disc to help me out with it but I may end up just getting it calibrated if I can find a legit calibrator in my area (New Orleans).

Just an FYI, I received The Samsung UHD Video Pack vs 2 (cy-SUC10SH1) today and just hooked it up. It is identical to the first version but has more content. Nothing else is different. I have only browsed through the documentaries but most look exceptional as do both Star Treks. I will dig more in depth when I have more time.

Can you see a place as to being able to download more content at a later date as Samsung said we would be able to do.

It is a 1tb hdd with about 211gb of movies on it.

Threre is nothing about download capability except having almost 800 gb of unused space on the hdd.

I have a brand new sealed video pack for sale. Pm me for details.

Yesterday I Ordered CY-SUC10SH1 version 2 (10 movies 30 docu's) from PCnation ,it will be at my door tomorrow $296.oo with tax. This past Monday I Ordered CY-SUC10SH1 version 1 (5 movies handful of docu's)from someone who had 7 of them on eBay(shoppingpcnow) for $230.oo . that is A LOT of coin for 2units with the same stuff. $$$OUCH$$$
Question;
Would these drives be useful for future and would you keep both of them Seeing how these are the same units and we may possibly be able to use these units to download more content on to them , or would you sell the one with less viewing stuff on it to help lick your $$ financial wounds $$ ??
Thank you for Any advise/opinions.

I would sell version 1, it has the same content as version two but not nearly as much content. It is a waste to own both unless you have two Samsung 4k TVs.

Nope. Worth noting, Samsung has never said this second drive would be able to access more content from them. They mentioned at one of the trade shows that there would be another drive available in the Fall that would have that ability but nothing has been said it about it since and no telling if this is that drive. Like I said, it is identical to the first drive but with more content so I see no reason this drive would be able to access more content when the first can't. Time will tell though.

Thumbs up Calibration of Samsung F9000 with Spyder4TV HD

Re calibrated my UN65F9000AF with the 2014 UHD Evolution Kit (SEK-2500u) after the recent firmware "upgrade" (2151.4) that degraded my picture considerably. I used the Spyder4TV HD system and it was relatively easy to use but did take me about an hour. Installed the software on my Samsung laptop computer which needs to be connected to the Spyder4 in one of the USB ports. The Spyder4 unit is attached to the middle of my 65" display with "bungee" cords from the four corners of the set. Before I calibrated the set I did a factory reset of the color as recommended by Spyder instructions. I also did this at night with no ambient light in the room which might affect calibration. I put in the Spyyder4TV HD Blu-Ray disc in my Samsung BD-F7500 Blu-Ray player. You go through an automated routine where you present the values of several picture categories which are default from Samsung (put in values from scanning test patterns on the Spyder4TV HD Blu-Ray) and you calibrate your set. Was very happy with results which returned the picture quality back to what it was before 2151.4 "update." Rich colors (not washed out) deep blacks and very little edge light "bleeding" which was adversely affecting my picture. I also tried the original 2014 rubber sheathed One Connect cord from the UHD Evolution kit to my TV; same flickering/juddering of picture so switched back to 2013 cable which was perfect.

I rethought my letting Samsung's incompetence prevent me from getting another 2014 cable so that has been reordered using the part number provided me on this site and hopefully I'll finally get the correct one that isn't defective (no flickering).

Happy camper once again. Also calibrated sound on my new Pioneer VSX-44 with 2.0 HDMI and the Dolby Digital 5.1 sound system sounds better as it has been automatically balanced.

Only one I've heard mentioning they would have 4K content for downloading is Sony but I think you have to have their media device in place as well but I could be wrong about that.

I will share them but everybody's settings can be different because of ambient light, personal preference, etc. I had h h Gregg do the first one as it was thrown in as part of the deal. Somebody came out and did a Spyder calibration then too. Cost for service was $100 and that's about what I paid for my own program (~$130).

They only calibrate certain settings and they are:

Going down first screen from top to bottom:

2013 One Connect 2014 UHD Evolution Kit
15 10
75 98
53 50
62 62
53 54
51 53

Like I said, your settings would depend on what light was in the room when it was done; I preferred no ambient light like I watch it at night.

I know the $250 calibration done by a certified technician at Best Buy would be more comprehensive but this looks pretty damn good just changing the values it did.

Don't know what to say about One Connect cable. If Samsung doesn't screw it up again I should get another 2014 UHD Evolution One Connect cable with rubber insulation and we'll see if it makes a difference (if the cable works properly, of course).

Can I use the CY-SUC05SF/ZA for anything now or should I just sell it to someone who has the original 2013 one connect box? Not sure if there will be a firmware that would let me see the 4K content on it again in the future or if I can download anything on it making it compatible with the 2014 Evo Kit.

Youtube. Search for 4k on youtube.com first, then post the links for 4k videos into the program.

Would these drives be useful for future and would you keep both of them Seeing how these are the same units and we may possibly be able to use these units to download more content on to them , or would you sell the one with less viewing stuff on it to help lick your $$ financial wounds $$ ??
Thank you for Any advise/opinions.

I bought mine from the same seller on Ebay. They accepted $215 plus $10 for shipping. Their description is wrong and it is the version with all 40 videos as the part number suggests. The drive arrived in about 4 days and brand new. The only surprise I had was the $34.25 brokerage fee that UPS charged to bring it into the USA. It was still cheaper than pcnation and I had some Ebay bucks to use.

Yup, I was hit for the same $34.25 UPS fee. This is the 1st time I have ever had UPS shake me down for a check at my door, I was a bit confused. The Canadian customs is a rough bunch of soldiers, my package had looked like it was put in a blender, blended up then wrapped with 3 rolls of Canadian customs tape. they even mutilated the nice looking original Samsung package to inspect the very sleek looking Video pack. I don't think they found any heroin balloons stuffed in the package. All said and done it was still under $300.oo delivered.
So,that was from eBay . I also purchased one from PCnation and I have not opened that one, it is sealed CY SUC10SH1/ZA version 2 with over 40 videos in original package. I will sell that for a modest offer. Message me with offer

Thumbs down Samsung Taking Advantage of Its UHD Customers?

Like I said, it is identical to the first drive but with more content so I see no reason this drive would be able to access more content when the first can't. Time will tell though.
I am confused. I spent $300 on a Samsung HDD with 5 movies and several nature clips. Through this site I thought I heard Samsung was going to offer future downloads (I also seem to remember some other articles about how the drive would be replenished from time-to-time). Now, there seems to be a second version of Samsung's HDD with 10 movies and 30 UHD clips for close to $300. What am I missing? I feel like Samsung is taking advantage of early adopters by continually selling overpriced HDDs just in order to have some UHD media to display on ones UHD set.

What is the real deal? Has Samsung told its customers that they will periodically update their Samsung HDD's with new 4k media for a fee? Where can we find this out?

If I'm not mistaken isn't Sony using a system where their customers can update their 4k media player periodically (for a price)?

PS - I also have the free Samsung HDD given out when my 2013 UN65F9000AF was new. Now this will not play and is a brick sitting behind the screen. Can this HDD be used to store pictures or video? If so, how? What about using a "downloader" for 4k from You Tube as mentioned in a posting on this thread?

Update: I erased the 4k movies that were on the free 500GB drive Samsung sent me when I purchased the 65F9000. I installed many of my pictures but have more pictures and video to install. I also broke down and got the second Samsung HDD with 10 movies and 30 UHD clips. I don't need the original HDD from Samsung with 5 movies and UHD clips and wonder if anyone is interested in purchasing this for $200 (OBO) plus shipping? PM me if interested.

Would you mind sharing which seller on eBay you bought this from? Found a Canadian seller but description is for 1st version. Thanks!

Ordered one from Beach Audio. Amazon told me that this was the first unit, but they were wrong! You can definitely find it cheaper than 399. Just sold my first one for $150 on Amazon and expect the new one mid week. According from what I read, this new one has the capabilities of accepting downloads from Samsung. They look the same, but I guess the new one is different on the inside. Samsung sent me a message on my TV when I reset Smart Hub (having Netflix audio issues, again!) about giving them consent on my viewing habits with the Samsung UHD Video Pack so they know what kind of programming to add in the future. Strange they would send that if this new device is not able to accept downloads (just don't know how without internet hooked up directly to the gadget). Only time will tell...

I know it doesn't list all the movies, but it is the correct part. Remember, I was able to submit an offer for $215 and it was accepted. Maybe they will accept less,

I'm not sure what Bryscott is talking about with version 1 and 2. The only information I can find refers to two different drives. CY-SUC10SH1/ZA with 40 movies and CY-SUC10SH/ZA with 10. If there really are two version of CY-SUC10SH1/ZA can someone share the UPC?
