I watched the two Star Trek films and the detail is phenomenal over blu ray. This video pack does wonders with some movies, while others do look just a tad better than blu ray. The documentaries are a waste of time. They are snippets. Who the hell cares about cooking in 4K? Wasteful. The two minutes of puppies playing is stupid. Come on Samsung, this is embarrassing to show to friends. More newer movies and full length concerts.
Life of Pi should look awesome as well. That's on tonight's schedule.

Oh yeah. I forgot Life of Pi looks great and is full frame. I think letterboxing on 4K wastes too many pixels.

I am big on watching films in their original aspect ratio, but some films filmed in Super 35 do not loose much (actually adds at tops and bottom) of the frame.
I would have had a heart attack if the Panavision frame of the Star Trek films were altered.
You are right, 4K films look better filling the whole 16x9 screen. James Cameron feels that toward his 3D films filling the screen helps the effect. And he is absolutely right, just like viewing 4K material.
