OK, the HU9000 doesn't take the Evolution Kit but the part number you listed is for the One Connect that comes with the HU9000 so you are just in the wrong thread. There are two threads for the HU9000 where you will likely get more help from people who own that model. But you have the only One Connect available for your TV so try updating the firmware if you have not done that yet. A user on another thread was having similar issues and that fixed it.

We need a little more info but if you did not do an Evolution Kit Backup in your original One Connect as per the instructions than the SEK-2500U will not connect when you plug it in.

Finally, the Korean firm says it will show off its long-awaited “UHD video pack” at next month’s IFA show in Berlin. The video pack, which has been produced in association with Fox Home Entertainment and consists of no less than forty 4K movies including Life Of Pi and Star Trek: Into Darkness preloaded on a 500GB media player, was first teased at last January’s CES show in Las Vegas and subsequently released in the USA, but was delayed in the United Kingdom and Europe due to licensing issues. We assume that those problems have now been resolved, and that Samsung UHDTV owners on these shores can look forward to more native 4K content.
The US version doesn't have 40 movies, does it?

So the 2nd video pack either gets downloadable movies or there will be a 3rd video pack. For the sake of the people that have bought the 2nd pack, I surely hope it will be downloadable extra content as was hinted at earlier this year.

The 2nd pack does have "40 movies" but only 10 of them are Hollywood movies. The rest of the content is documentaries and a couple weird TV episodes. Still no word on it being able to download content but I am not holding my breath. Samsung still doesn't have a delivery system; Good news is that Amazon UHD VOD will be a go this Fall, according to a Samsung worldwide press release (they say October but you know how that goes).

Hello guys, I am new on this thread. I just received my SEK2500 for my 65F9000 (I am in Europe). The switch to the new box happened exactly like specified in the manual, but surprise: my Smart Hub has now only 2 panels: Samsung Apps and Multimedia. Whenever I try to update the software, it tells me that new "data" is available, updates in a few seconds and restarts the TV. The TV functions behave ok but I don't have anything in 4K (Youtube doesn't play in 4K, Netflix not available). What to do? Plus one more thing: I cannot connect with the PC in 2160p60 mode using a HDMI 2.0 cable... Please advice.

Hit the info button on TV remote. Top of the screen is a menu, scroll to the far right icon and select. Click on subtitles and turn off. Close menu. You must do this every time you watch a program.

Gee 1030, you must enter code "0000" to watch The Counselor. Since its R rated. Code default is "0000". Hope that helps.

Glad to be of help. That's what this forum is all about. Samsung support is useless! Its tedious to have to turn the subtitles off every time, but its worth it! I noticed the newer one has the same situation (except a few movies the subs are already turned off. Strange) but you will quickly get used to it.

Netflix should be in the bottom buttons to show most popular apps or some such, you need to reinstall it.

Anyone else noticed that enabling or disabling Cinema Black doesn't make any difference? I don't see any difference in the blacklevel of the top and bottom bars when watching a movie. I'm running the latest firmware 1151.7

Has anyone had a proper calibration done with the new SEK 2500u box connected if so do the settings vary much from the cnet ones when the tv first came out, or has anyone got any tips on whether any adjustments should be made over the cnet settings with the new connect box.

I'm not happy with my (US) SEK-2500 kit. Bright scenes look great - resolution is great and colors look great too. But dark scenes or scenes with shadows look bad (greyish or foggy).

I also see occasional flickering/juddering - but this is infrequent enough that it isn't distracting (say, once in 30 minutes). But I still don't think this is acceptable for an expensive TV.

It is weird - in bright scenes, black looks great - black clothes, black hair all look really black - resolution & color are great. But dark scenes or scenes in shadows look washed out.

Blu-ray looks better than cable. Broadcast TV is about the same (maybe slightly better).

BTW, I followed the sequence specified by the manual - backup, replace, etc. I also adjusted picture settings as recommended for differences between the old box & the mew (white balance etc).

Could this be a cable issue? Does the old cable (that came with the 2013 TV) work - has anyone faced problems with the 2014 evolution-kit cable that comes with the new box that were fixed by using the old cable? HW (kit) problem? Something else? Any tips would be appreciated - thanks in advance!

Given the issue you detailed, I doubt that it's the cable.

If it were me, I would get the original CNET settings (for old one connect) and confirm they are all still the same on the new one connect box (after adjusting for new neutral points, etc.) I've changed backlight to 12, contrast to 93, and brightness to 46. Check everything in the advanced settings submenu (not just white balance and color) and also everything in "picture options". If HDMI blacklevel isn't "grayed out"; test both Normal and Low to see which gives the best blacks.

I just don't understand the new SmartHub. Should it have 2 pages only? For the rest, it behaves ok, it plays anything, it also works with YouTube 4K videos (although only the ones that have 4k by default I think). On the bad side: I cannot see Netflix, I cannot search for a certain app in the shop, I cannot search on Vimeo, I cannot use PIP in 4K mode, and browser doesn't work with YouTube. Any advices?

I don't think this is a "proper" calibration as it wasn't done by a qualified TV calibration expert but I adjusted my Samsung UN65F9000/AF with the Samsung SEK-2500u 2014 UHD Evolution Kit with a Spyder HD calibration kit. You use a laptop that has a Blu-Ray disc for color and grey calibration which is connected to a sensor (attached to middle of screen with bungee cords) via USB. You go through several different screens on Blu-Ray and enter values the sensor sends out. It took a little over an hour and my results were good. It only adjusts the first page in Picture menu (not all the other values that are quoted in CNet settings).

This was not done by a professional (Best Buy Geek Squad for instance) at $250 but for about $100 I did it myself and like the results. I can calibrate whenever I want. I have not used the 2013 CNet settings ever but others say they get good results with them on the SEK-2500u with a little "tweaking."

My only complaint is light bleeding at corners of blank screen (lower right is worst) but we have an edge lit LED monitor so I think we have to expect some of this. Mine is at a minimum when screen is blank but I notice nothing on Direct TV, Netflix 4k, UHD Video Pack or You Tube 4k clips. Picture is awesome!

I did have trouble with the UHD Evolution cable (flickering, etc.) and use the 2013 One Connect cable which works fine. I found out that the newer cable just meets standards to go through the wall but other than that, the two cables are the same. Samsung is supposed to send me a replacement 2014 cable but its been weeks and I'm not holding my breath.

I'm so pathetic. I was watching Night At The Museum from the first video pack (SEK2500U/ZA version) and enjoying the clarity of the faces of the actors (amazing detail!) That I HAD to order the second version video pack. PCNation so far had the lowest price. And this tidbit of info, Discover Card extended my credit to 0% interest for purchases. Yeahhhh, I'm going to hell aright.

Is the picture on the movies in the UHD pack as clear as the nature (other content on UHD HDD) and other clips (You Tube 4k, etc.)? I wasn't that impressed by the movies and it looked to me that the movies weren't 4k. Maybe I should give them a second look.

Yeah, same here, but when I watched Night At The Museum I was convinced. When I watch a 1080 p video the faces are not as detailed as 2160.
