AVS member Thmanx has just received the M322i, making him the first to own a 2014 M model
I've messaged him and hopefully he posts his findings in here. The larger sizes will be available at Vizio.com soon, and as soon as the 49" is available, I'll be nabbing it.
Since my M50 update it's firmware I have had no freezes, which is a nice improvement. Having owned my set since black Friday I remain very happy with PQ. My only other issue with my set seems to have got worse since the update. I am wondering if anyone else has this issue:
After watching Netflix smart app, then switching back to cable, my screen image gets small like a picture in picture size. The only way to get full screen again is to turn the TV off and on again. This used to be intermittent. Now it's fairly consistent.
I can watch Netflix on Apple TV connected to my M50 also, and never have the problem.
Hey I had this same exact issue with the small tiny screen in the upper left corner after watching Netflix. I posted it a couple pages back and No one chimed in about it. I knew I couldn't be the only one. It might just have to do with the 50 inch m series cause I had a 42 inch m series and this never happened after calling vizio I found out that this shouldn't be happening and it's a problem with the video processor. He was going to ship me out a new one to exchange my tv with it but I was still in best buys return period so I just returned it and now I'm waiting on the 2015 m series to come out.
I agree as well but there are several posts with suggested advanced and calibration settings. Since my TV was exchanged I lost my professionally calibrated settings. I plugged in the settings he used and while the greyscale is surely off as each set is different they are working fine until my calibrator gets back from being on tour.
Okay, moving to this thread from the defective 1.60 firmware thread. Vizio replaced my TV with an overstock. They can tell by the serial number. So it was new, but they can't call it that because once it arrives back at the warehouse they open it to inspect it before shipping it out. The TV developed screen uniformity issues so back it went. They just delivered this one Saturday. I sent them photos and they are replacing it again with a new set. Took moments to get approved. I had taken the photos this morning before going to work while it was still dark. Getting tired of this and I hope the new one has the old FW and doesn't look the attached photos.
I have had roughly a half dozen replacement Vizio sets over the last 18 months and they all have that uniformity issue to some degree. It is really just the nature of the beast with lcd. It does tend to get better on more expensive panels. If you engage local dimming it should mitigated the issue for the most part.
I have since moved on from Vizio to Samsung and the overall panel uniformity is much better but I do have some flashlighting from the corners since it is edge lit, so pick your poison I guess.
i am using the audio out red/white cable with a 3.5mm female adapter attached to use headphones for late night viewing...is there anything i can use to make this tv bluetooth headphone compatible so i could get rid of the cords?
What do you mean by "clipping?" I've noticed some blending together of levels in the ramp, that resemble a sort of "clipping." Haven't noticed it on all picture modes.
Well, I finally connected my TV (M600-B3) to my network. Went to try a few of the channels and no sound. I am using an AV receiver connected to my TV audio/video with HDMI. Has anybody experienced this and what did you do to remedy this no sound problem?

Chromecast->M422i->Denon AVR591 (via ARC), no surround sound
I have a Chromecast plugged into my TV and have been unable to get stereo output from it.
The TV is connected to a DenonAVR-591 with sound carried over ARC. The TV built-in apps are delivering surround sound, just not the Chromecast (tried with both netflix and plex). It looks like the TV identifies itself as a stereo-only device to the Chromecast. I'm familiar with this issue when using the optical output on the TV, but I thought it was supposed to work with ARC.
TV settings:
Audio:
TV speakers: off
Surround Sound: on
Digital Audio Out: bitstream

Is your Chromecast connected to the TV or the DENON?
Mine is connected to the DENON 2100 which I select as an independent source not reliant on ARC/CEC.
ARC is only used when I select native TV sources (OTA, onboard apps).
Chromecast provides correct audio this way as the source to the TV is the DENON not the Chromecast directly.
Have a 322i-b1. Small, trivial (to me, but not so to my wife) screen size problem. When using the remote and pushing the screen picture size, instead of bringing up the screen size menu the tv changes inputs. It goes from the tv to my raspberry pi media center. The pi is connected via HDMI and CEC is enabled. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a big thing? No, not to me, I can live with it. However, the better half gets flustered and then calls her tech support into the room (yeah, 'cause I am great at tech support.) Any thoughts? Thank you.
Can anyone who has had their TV Replaced under warranty tell me how it went about? Do they give you a specific time in which they will arrive?
I bought my M602i-b3 last year from Sam's Club in Buffalo and brought it back to Canada. There is a slight problem with it now (nothing to bad) but they have offered to replace it but only in the US. I was thinking of meeting them in a Hotel Parking Lot or should I get an actual room? I can theoretically plug it into my car and test it. What paper work do they need?
Can't find the right term or anyone else who has had a similar circumstance with their set during my searches.
When I change inputs, stations or there is a dramatic change in a scene, regardless of the input source, the screen is blown-out or washed-out and it takes it a second or two to come into focus and get the colors and brightness correct. This also happens with the on-screen display. I've tried changing every setting to off-on-auto that I can find with no change. Other than this, the picture is great.
Had my M551d-A2 for about a year now. When I first purchased it, I got it all calibrated and was excited, enjoying the picture. After some time, one night, the screen went almost completely black with a vague appearance of images. Before contacting support, and trying to get it to respond, I decided to reset the TV in a last attempt. It brought everything back but of course, all of my settings were gone. I then went back and put in my calibration settings.
I think it's been ever since then that I've had this weird blooming issue when I change input, channels or drastically different scenes. Don't recall if it did it before the blackout and I don't remember? Is this normal for this model? If not, anyone else have it?
Is 1080p/120 Hz (1080p120, 1080p/120 fps) possible on the M602i-B3? I have a PC with an AMD 5670 graphics card; I can do 720p120 but not 1080p120.
I know that my AMD card is somewhat low-end. I'm wondering if a higher-end card would work with 1080p120.
Is it possible to send 1080p120 over one HDMI connection? Are the connectors on the TV able to handle it?
On my M602i-B3, something similar to this happens, but I'm not sure if it's what you're talking about. When changing inputs, the screen starts brighter, than dims. I believe this is because of active LED zones / local dimming. If not, my next guess would be the screen having a default brightness when you switch, and having to tone it down after the input is selected.
I wouldn't call it dramatic on my screen. It's a slight change in brightness; everything stays in focus.
When FALD is active and I bring up the TV menu, that part of the screen gets brighter after around 1 second.
Is the optical audio out suppose to work on all inputs when running it directly from the TV to the AVR? Getting no audio when running the youtube app or when playing the WIIU for surround sound through my receiver and I don't know what's wrong.
I had a 9 year old Samsung that died on me my set up with my old HK receiver with no HDMI hook ups worked perfectly for surround sound but the same set up with the vizio m422i-b1 I'm getting no audio from the optical out direct TV into the AVR. Can somebody help?
Oh no. Did you already try unplugging it from the outlet, wait several minutes, plug it back in? Call Vizio as they have a process where you hold down the power button on the back. Can't recall the order of the steps.
Got the firmware update on my M60 recently. FALD lag appears to be fixed but is anyone noticing some weirdness with the color now? Haven't checked multiple sources yet but in episodes of Daredevil (via Netflix on Roku 3) flesh tones in dim scenes have these bizarre greenish splotches... Still there after a factory reset and no amount of fiddling in the color balance settings seemed to have any effect.

Anyone else notice anything weird like this?
I bought an M502i-B1 a few days ago. It had firmware 1.0.4 installed. I connected it to the internet mainly to get a firmware update, but no update came after several hours.
I did the procedure for forcing an update, and was immediately updated to 1.0.5. So at least sometimes, the procedure for forcing a firmware update works.
My password to my router was gone after the update; I believe this is normal, but it may be an explanation for some suddenly losing internet connectivity if unaware of this behavior or that an update has happened.
Is the most recent firmware for this TV 1.0.5, or is there a newer one?

Does anyone know if there's a way to maintain power to the USB port on an M492I-B2 while the TV is off? I recently bought a Roku stick and had planned on powering it through the USB port. But right now, the USB port power turns off (along with the Roku) when the TV turns off.
My M55 is still on firmware version 1.34. A few months ago Vizio was pushing out v.1.6 to most Mxxx-Bx. Should I do something? Be worried? Chill, have a cold beer, and enjoy v1.34?
Same here. Just purchased a 55" for my spare room and am on 1.34. Looking for some decent settings and wondering if I should connect it to the Internet?
When I had an M55, I used the settings from the rtings.com review of that model. The only thing I brought down in their settings was the color saturation (they had it in the 60's but I kept it lower in the 50's). If you want to delve deeper, smeg36's 1.34 color tuner settings for the M65 looked pretty nice with the M55 also. My M55 was replaced by Vizio with an M65 a few months ago and I've had it online with no issues (it's 1.34 and hasn't received 1.60 yet).
The update notice was on-screen when I turned on the set for the first time this morning. I did NOT personally initiate the update.
As far as any differences apparent with the new update, I noticed that my Custom Picture Setting (Menu>TV Settings>Picture) changed from my Custom setting to "Calibrated Dark". This changed in both my Comcast input, Multi-Directional Indoor Antenna input, as well as the Multimedia (App) for my DLNA Media Servers.
My Custom Setting was still in the Picture Mode menu so it was easy enough to reset it back to my desired Custom Setting. Just something for you to be aware of when you are updated, check ALL your inputs for any changes to your picture settings from those you had set before the update.
I also notice in the Picture Mode menu a setting for "Primetime" which I don't remember as being there before the update, but I could be wrong since I just use my Custom settings all the time.
so bought the 42" in feb and have gotten to really like the pic settings over the past few months...got home tonight after work and turned on the unit to see the 1.60 firmware update screen...now my picture settings have been deleted...son of a...back to the drawing board i guess as i didnt write anything down.
Anyone ever run into an issue where the bottom of the TV displays "Searching for available updates..." continuously every 5-10 seconds? It just started tonight when I turned on my M552i-B2. Looks like my firmware version is 1.34.46.1166_135.
must be a huge issue. can't through to vizio at all. I email techsupport@vizio.com a video clip of what is going on.
