Both of these sets are rather new, but wanted to ask you guys if any of you owned either of these yet. I can't go to Best Buy to do a side-by-side comparison just yet.

According to Amazon, the Sharp is actually a full array (first time I'm hearing this). Not sure if it has local dimming too, but in PCMag's review of the E480i-B2 they claimed the Sharp had overall better colors.

I went to Best Buy on Friday to check out the Sharp LC-48LE551U, but they didn't have it out on display and wouldn't bring out out and hook it up for me to check it out. They said to just refer to its 55" sibling, but it's not a fair comparison since the 55" model has a different panel with 120Hz refresh rate. I might just go pick it up and take it home to try it out. Anyone know what Best Buy's open-box return policy is? They don't specify anything about it on their returns/exchanges page, so I assume it'd fall under the standard policy of 15 days w/ receipt.

I've returned a couple of TVs within the 15 day range and it's no big deal. You can just honestly say that you did not like the picture quality and they'll process a refund or exchange.

I got an Amazon gift card this weekend, and put it towards the Sharp. Should arrive tomorrow. I'll post a bit about it this weekend, though I won't be able to compare it directly to the Vizio unless somebody wants to send me one. :-)

I am looking to choose between the exact same models, but its a tough call - any feedback is very welcome.

I just ordered one at Best Buy and will be picking it up today. I also was looking at the Vizios but read a few reviews that changed my mind. I had originally ordered a Panasonic TC-50AS530U but cancelled the order and ordered the Sharp. I didnt need the smart features anyway since I have 3 consoles. Ill report back my feedback soon. Although it wont be technical.
