According to Amazon, the Sharp is actually a full array (first time I'm hearing this). Not sure if it has local dimming too, but in PCMag's review of the E480i-B2 they claimed the Sharp had overall better colors.
I went to Best Buy on Friday to check out the Sharp LC-48LE551U, but they didn't have it out on display and wouldn't bring out out and hook it up for me to check it out. They said to just refer to its 55" sibling, but it's not a fair comparison since the 55" model has a different panel with 120Hz refresh rate. I might just go pick it up and take it home to try it out. Anyone know what Best Buy's open-box return policy is? They don't specify anything about it on their returns/exchanges page, so I assume it'd fall under the standard policy of 15 days w/ receipt.
Looks as the light output and black levels won't win any prizes according to PC Mag;
The Vizio didn't fair any better, in fact worse;
Abundant OTA television is what makes this country different from all others. Lets keep it this way. If you like Wi-Fi so much, OTA fits right in. After all, it is wireless.
