If that's the case, then it's pretty much Samsung, the garbage Sony spits out, LG, and Vizio. The TV industry is getting too limited and too focused on $$$ instead of trying to make a great product and let consumers buy off quality. Isn't what it used to be.

Nobody has heard a peep about it, we don't even know street pricing yet. And in less than 2 weeks, September will be here.

I wouldn't be surprised if AX900 never materializes and panasonic simply exits the TV business. I have no industry insider experience, just going off how the AX800 has been handled.
As an enthusiast, you're not alone. Even some insiders are hinting at this very real possibility. I think Sony just recently (as of 2013/14) managed to turn a slim profit in their TV business. No way in hell Panasonic has managed that since exiting plasma (after a decade of losses). The CEO is all about cutting off bleeding limbs, so it wouldn't surprise me to see this one go next.

Didn't imply he did, but for critical viewing, the weakness of those numbers will be apparent.

I dont understand what panasonic's issue is with the US. I'm currently holidaying in a small country town in Australia, population 70,000, and the local store has 4 of the 65AX800's in stock.

But in the US you just cant get them.

Was Panasonic burnt by the US some how?

Imagic,
Care to speculate on how much better the FALD x900 might perform based your eval and other FALDs you've seen?

Even with a renewed sense of caution and skepticism that I've picked up along the way, I expect the AX900 to be a groundbreaking LCD in terms of PQ performance.

With an expected price of 2X the price of an AX800 (PT-65AX800U currently selling for $2999 at Best Buy and directly from Panasonic), the real question is will enough customers consider the AX900 be worth the sizeable difference in price in order for Panasonic sell enough to make a profit on that flagship model..
