I need some advice on selecting a new TV for basement family room. The room will be fairly dark and there is no concern with sunlight shining on the TV. Between the following 3 TVs which one do you think will provide better picture quality for Movies and Sports?

Vizio E650I-A2 65" LED $1199
Sharp Sharp LC65LE643U 65" LED $1199
Samsung PN64F5300 64" Plasma $1198

Thank you.

If the room is dark like you say, most likely the plasma. That's not one with a pentile matrix subpixel arrangement is it? Those drive me nuts.

Thank you.

For $1200, I'd suggest you consider the 2014 E650i-B2: http://store.vizio.com/eseries/e650ib2.html

It is full array rather than edge lit for the same price as the 2013 E650I-A2 model, is available now, and has recently received a very positive review from CNET: http://www.cnet.com/products/vizio-e550i-b2/2/

Some plasma displays do not use a conventional RGB stripe subpixel arrangement. The use a different subpixel arrangement called a pentile matrix. To my eyes it does not look very good and is rather objectionable. However, I think only the 60" F5300 has this and the 64" does not.
