Haven't taken delivery yet, its amazing how difficult it is for the TV to be acquired. I have Sony and Magnolia pinned up against each other, orders placed at both.
I have confirmed with Sony that the TV is sitting in a warehouse 15 miles from my house. If I wasn't a "squeaky wheel" I wouldn't have this TV until week after next (I am not 100% certain I will get it this week).
I had to email some Sony corporate executives to hopefully have them break protocol and skip all the white glove delivery revelry BS. Seems absurd that they can't just allow for it to be delivered and let me use my own install guys.
Anyhow, hope this bad boy will be on my wall Tuesday and performs like the 65". Will report back with progress.
If it was like anything for the 84 inch it took a team of 3 to 4 guys to install the TV. That's why Sony wants to use their people instead of you using your people to do installation. if this helps at all.
One big step for avskind! Best of luck to you and your hopefully pristine 85" 950B. IMO I definitely would of let the Sony peeps had full liability on the install & setup...
Funny thing is this active 3D 85" is actually smaller in length than the passive 3D 79" 900B by a few inches. Taller by only 4 inches & 28 pounds of weight. I wonder if it will have more than 128 zones at this price point? Vizio 384 zones for the 65" & 120" due out later this year "supposedly".
Lastly I am curious how the Panasonic AX900 85" will compare with it's Quad-Core processor processor "real time" FALD & purported plasma type blacks, when it is also released in just a few months from now?
Congratulations. Enjoy some of the best video reproduction the WORLD can offer. This is what Life is about, enjoying things to the fullest that you have the means for, and that bring Joy into your Life.
People spend more money than this on things they hate, they just won't admit it.
To say I'm jealous would be a under statement.
