Best 65" TV under $1,500.00?

I hope I am posting in the correct section. Father is interested in purchasing a new TV, 65", budget is $1,500.00. He is not interested in any Plasma sets, only LCD/LED. Are there any quality TV's out there in this price range? If so, what would you recommend. Thanks in advance.

Likely at that size and low budget would be the Vizio 2014 M series MODEL NUMBER: M652I-B2. With local dimming.

I don't own one because that's not my budget region. Bottom line is to go audition these large budget level panels but understand places like Walmart simply don't know how to properly present their TV's on what I call the walls of shame because there's nothing at Walmart I'd pull my wallet out to buy on their selections.

Other options would be budget 65" Samsung H6350, 70" Sharps.

No matter the price audition PQ and smart features for your homes preference.

Samsung 65F8000, 60D8000, 40HU6350, Panasonic 50E60 LCD's
