4K Owners Current Home Theater Setup
My 55XBR8 is dying.....FBU board failure with vertical lines. Kills me that the Flagship set lasted less than 6 years, but I guess that's how Sony and other companies stay in business, making you replace major purchases routinely.
I'm upgrading to a 4K Sony 65XBRX850B due for delivery and install next week.
I currently run DirecTV and older BluRay player through a Yamaha HDMI switching receiver (Not 4k or 4k pass thru). I'm tired of upgrading and would like to run what I have. I don't game or watch 3D.
Would it be best to run another HDMI through the wall conduit and have the DirecTV and BR player with their own HDMI cable to the TV? Would this give me the best picture....letting the TV do the work of upscaling or would a 4k AV Receiver with upscaling (or just pass thru) be the way to go?
Any info from current 4k users? I just want the best picture possible.
