I just placed an order for this TV but the issue is I have not seen it in person. In general, what are the experts saying about this TV compared to sony's 4K 65 in offering?
Keep in mind I don't have 4K player.
and I am getting this for 2150$ including tax and shipping.
Thank you !

Local electronics shop - no tax. Is a sony retailer and I purchased my old one (back in 2005, sony kdl65 something) from him at the time for a deep discount. You can also get the same TV from abesofmaine, and if you are not in NJ - no tax AFAIK

Should you cancel it? No! I auditioned the 65" in my house to replace a GT50 plasma and I was pretty happy. Most of the demons of edge-lit LCDs are gone and it's a good compromise for those of us who don't want to wait another generation or two for OLEDs to be ready and affordable.

The local dimming does have some visible blooming in the VERY darkest of scenes, in a pitch black room.

Is it perfect? No, but you won't do better with a Sony for the price... and lots of reports here of people unhappy with their $8k sony 950Bs.

FWIW - I went to best buy today - here is what I found -
the blueray dvd's looked phenomenal - I mean like I was there. Unfortunately, the cable signal - HBO specifically - really was terrible - no different than my 2005-6 sony KDL TV. Is this the consensus?
