60W630B help requested (Sony)

We just purchased this TV. Our first new TV in over 40 years. Replaced an RCA. This was our gift to each other to celebrate 50 wonderful years.

So, enough of that.

First, we are new to this world so any tips, secrets, tweaks, changes we should make that experts recommend? Second, looking thru the settings parts, I came upon the notifications. I couldn't find anything about whether we should keep on or turn off. Next, we have it connected to our DirecTV Genie receiver using a HDMI cable. I plugged it in to HDMI one. The TV is in a smaller type room with our sectional and that's all. We have a window at our backs but have good blinds on the window to close.
We love to watch football, baseball, movies, and cooking shows on Food Network.
We haven't changed a thing except to connect to wifi, it updated on its own and I turned off the part where it would report in. That seemed like an odd feature to us.
I have the Genie remote programed so I can turn off and on both receiver and TV with it.

This is all new to us so would appreciate getting the most of this gorgeous new TV. I await all of your help and please ask questions if I left anything out.

Thank you,
Terk

Thank you

Would these settings work ok with our set up:

TV is against the wall, we have our sectional about 7 feet back and have a window behind us with blinds closed but still get light in so when screen is black/dark we can see reflection of us sitting there.
