Panasonic Viera JPG restrictions?
I spent some time with a Panasonic TX-32AS600E and found that the bulk of my jpg images were not shown in its media player, because their format was not supported. That is, jpg images that show in each application I know on windows, os x and linux, fail to show in what is called a smart tv?
The manual lists as supported photo formats "JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg)
Sub-sampling: 4:4:4, 4:2:2, 4:2:0
Image resolution (pixel): 8 × 8 to 30 719 × 17 279
DCF and EXIF standards
Progressive JPEG is not supported.
Some files may not be played back even if they fulfil these conditions."
This sounds pretty restrictive, as simple Photoshopping already breaks the sub-sampling requirements. Is Panasonic so crappy, or do other brands show the same poor jpg implementation?
