Vizio M801i-A3 calibration?

Anyone have any good links and/info on calibrating the levels for the the Vizio M801i-A3? I just got mine on Friday and was hoping to tweak it a bit.

Thanks.

Sturmie

Thanks for this...I snagged one from Costco last week for $1,999, and it gets delivered TOMORROW!! I am looking for the same info, though I haven't done any real digging in the other Vizio 80-incher thread yet. Any good settings for that panel will also work for this.

Appreciate any and all info from those who have been through this already!

I've had it on "Calibrated Dark" today, just to see how it looks, and I gotta say, it's ridiculous. Like I'm there...

Is that a preset option? I haven't played around that much yet. I used the settings I posted above, but set the "Black Detail" to "medium" instead of "low"...I had it on "high" for a day or too, but that made sports way too dark, IMO.

Yes; it's one of the presets.

Ordered during the Sams deal back on November 25th; TV was finally delivered late yesterday evening. I'm now waiting for my assistant to awaken from her slumber to move the old 61" Samsung DLP and to set this one up.

Looking at the M801D-A3 owners thread; it appears most are sold on URSA99 calibrated settings on Post 9630 at the bottom of the page here -

Anyone have an opinion of these on the M801i-A3?

I will try these...thanks!

The settings above looked great when I set up the TV, and I have also been liking "Calibrated Dark", even though it has more processing turned on. My wife prefers that, and Thurs Night Football looked ridiculously good with it.

Let us know how your setup goes...good luck!!

BTW, the panel is a heavy beast...I helped my installer get it mounted, and it's way heavier than my 70" Sharp.

Spent the weekend with ups and downs with this TV. Initially turning it on with the factory preset was extremely disappointing to say the least - even my 17 year old daughter asked me what as wrong with the new TV as compared to the 8 year old DLP....not good.

Playing with the settings I had intended to use (and referenced above) made a world of difference; but I have to admit I am still not sold. Football and news desk shots look fantastic; but everything else seems to have this slight white haze that prevents the picture from popping.

Anyone else see the slight haze or have any suggestions??

I posted a reply in the other thread. I'm not seeing the issue that you are...

For those who just got this TV and are looking for settings here are shortcuts to the ones I found from the Vizio 80" M801D-A3 owners thread . People kept posting did you look at this or that person's setting but never posted where they were located in this thread with 1650+ posts. So hopefully this helps someone else out:

How much light bleeding from the edges would be considered acceptable? I just got my M801i-A3 last week and was a little disappointed with how much my bleeding my TV has. This is my first LCD TV since my past ones have been tubes, projectors, or plama. I haven't messed with any of the settings yet and this picture below was from the default "Game" setting. (the "game" setting seemed to be the only default setting that did not give the "soap opera" effect, so that is why I choose that until I have time to mess with the calibration). I did noticed with smart dimming the bleeding would "go away"on dark scenes, however I read most prefer to have that setting off.

For all who have or are getting this panel, mine was delivered two weeks ago, and I am mostly using the settings linked above by chooch5, in post #14 . They are absolutely stunning for this "average guy". I also like Calibrated and Calibrated Dark for football, but those settings above rock!
