Samsung 55" LED - Dirty Screen Effect / Clouding - In Warranty

  • Hello everyone. I hope this is the correct forum - I didn't see a specific LED forum.

In September, I bought a 55" Samsung LED Model: UN55H6350 (I believe an F needs to be added at the end, but that is what the TV gave me)

I just started to noticed grey blotches (like bruising of the screen almost) on the edges and the top of the screen.

This is only noticeable when the screen is displaying lighter color like whites, light blues, yellows, etc. It is very annoying even though 90% of the content looks fine. However, for $1,000 I expect better quality.

I called Samsung who immediately setup a ticket for a local guy to come look at it. He called me like an hour after I called. When I explained the issue, he seemed confused and asked for pictures. He then stated "If I don't see it, there is nothing that I can do."

After emailing him the pictures, he agreed he could see it, but if I took the pictures closer than 15 feet, Samsung will not authorize him to fix it. He several times said that Samsung was terrible and he would be surprised if this gets resolved. He told me to send pictures that weren't as light and I told him the issue is only visible on lighter pictures.

I have to say, this guy seemed like he didn't want to bother and even tried to talk me into bringing the TV to him rather than him coming to the house. I told him that was not an option given the size and I wouldn't have anyone right away to help me.

So, I'm asking you all this:
  • What would you do? Call Samsung back and tell them how the tech seemed like Samsung is so difficult to deal with that I shouldn't bother?
  • Let them guy just come and look? I'm afraid he will discount my issue and then Samsung won't be willing to send anyone else out.

Hopefully the pictures show what I'm talking about.

Thanks,
Brian

That is pretty bad...I would try to see if Samsung will contact a different technician. Don't know anybody who would accept that as OK/normal.
