Advice?-Older vs newer LCD-Buy used-$100

I’d like to ask for some advice on buying a USED LCD TV. I’ve been using an old 19 inch Sony CRT type that has been working fine for years and now I’m ready to upgrade to the newer technology.

There are many on Craigslist for about $100 for a 32 inch screen, so that’s the range I’m considering.

What’s the difference between an older 32 inch and a newer one? The older ones sold for a lot more in the past, but I'm not sure if that means they are better.

For example, a Sharp Aquos LC-32D62U
$400 used on Amazon, but I saw one locally for $100

or a Sharp Aquos LC-C3237U

and a more recent Magnovox 32ME303V/37
$180 new at Target

I see the newer ones weigh a lot less. This particular Magnavox is only 720p, while these older ones are 1080p.
How about the picture? Is there a difference in the picture between a 7 year old LCD TV and a newer one?

Can someone tell me the difference between an older and a newer TV, with similar specs? Any recommendations or advice on whether buying a 7 year old TV might be a good choice? (I often buy used electronics/equipment, etc, to save money, so I'm used to it)

Thank you,
Kevin

Treat yourself to a new set. Vizio E series would be a good choice. Inexpensive too. A 7 year old tv may end up costing you in the long run.
