I am looking forward to seeing actual owner's reviews of this TV and their suggested calibrations. I am seriously interested in the 65" JS8500 and want to hear honest comments and experiences about it. And please no off topic discussions. There is another link for that.

These basketball pics you posted in other thread looks like their are some serious issues with fast motion basketball moves. Is that the JS8500 or your camera?

Pretty much. It's not a blurry mess when you actually watch it. It's my phone's slow shutter speed.

I took a short video to show that it isn't really like that. https://vid.me/uSVk

I received my 65" JS8500 a day early and spent the evening messing around with the set. I'll post some pics this weekend but I wanted to provide my first thoughts. The colors look really good on this set and it seems to be really well made. I don't appear to have any type of major clouding or flash lighting issues; although I do have a minor amount of each, neither can really be seen when viewing content.

I enabled "Game Mode" to try it out and was surprised with what appeared to be very low input lag (although don't have anything to measure with). Interestingly though, the Smart LED system is available as an option when in "Game Mode" and is set to "Standard" by default. I was under the assumption that this was disabled for reduced input lag. Any thoughts on this?

I will do some calibrations this weekend with the Disney WOW discs and post some pics with settings once completed. So far I am a pretty happy camper

wow they do look fantastic. Just curious in the HU8550 series there was a small pocket/cutout near the inputs, does the js8500 have the same? Only reason I ask is because my tv installer used that void for my samsung soundbar power adapter.

I currently have the 55 HU8550 with the Samsung Slim wall mount. Do you guys think changing to the 55 JS8500 will require me to have the tv installer adjust the wall mount or do you guys think the placement of the mount on the tv's are about the same height?

Well for one the inputs are all in the One Connect Mini except for the composite and component inputs. There is a bit of a space, but I can't say if it will fit your power adapter as I don't know how big it is. As for the mounting of the TV, I'm not familiar with the Samsung Slim mount, but I would assume there is some level of play in how high or low you can place it on the back of the TV?

Anyone have calibration recommendations yet?
