I have up to $1,000 to spend on a TV, I want something with at least decent input lag. Nice IQ. I see this Sony on sale for $999. The only con I can see is that the blacks aren't real deep blacks for a higher tier TV. But I'm coming from a 2008 Samsung Ln46a550 and the blacks on there are fine to me. Would the blacks be at least as good as my old Samsung? Is there something you guys can recommend? This will be for video games, and movies, tv, SD and HD. I really don't like Vizio's. Skin tones are too red and if you get close I notice SDE or lines in the screen. Would like to stick with Sony or Samsung.
The 65" Toshiba reported had a Game Turbo mode with only 10ms of lag and its 4K and its 65". Might be a decent deal but it is $400 more than your max and Toshiba is withdrawing from the US market so warranty from them would probably be useless. If interested get the Costco warranty.
Honestly 4K really means nothing to me because I stream everything and I don't see a ton of 4K streaming content available everywhere for quite a while. Samsung 6350 vs Sony W950A, anyone have any suggestions on which looks better? none of the local stores have the W950A I can look at anymore.
This will seem rather ambiguous but the rumblings about the Sony's radial banding issues drove me to the Sammy. My 6350 (although not perfect, but perfect enough for the money) on standard picture setting is glorious and I really don't notice any big difference in lag from mode to mode if that matters to you. Plus the W950A is officially discontinued at Sony's site...
Is the color, viewing angles, processor / motion and input lag better on the W950B but the Blacks are deeper and less glare on the Samsung H6350? If that's the case for the same amount of money do you think overall the W950B would be a better deal?
Sony 55W700B at Best Buy, currently $900 but regularly drops to $800. Bought one for my basement and it's fantastic for both TV and gaming, as lag is super low. No 3D, but the same panel and essentially the same picture controls as the more expensive 800B. I came from Samsung 750A and 850A TVs and was so pleased that I bought a 60W850B for our upstairs. Some light clouding on my panel, but not as bad as my Samsung 850A was and I don't notice it when actual content is playing.
I'd second the 55W700B suggestion. It's a better TV than the H6350 in terms of picture quality. Excellent processing, great contrast, solid blacks, and a nice design.
The W950B is a good choice if you have a bright viewing environment and will have wider viewing angles from the IPS panel and benefits from the WCG triluminos backlight. I would not buy it for dark room viewing.
Go to Vegas, put your $1000 on black, and come back and buy the 55" LG OLED ec9300 at $2000. If your looking for 55, There really is no other choice. It's stunning. It just dropped from 3000 so now is the time to buy!
Samsung 55H7150 should be able to be snagged for about that
better TV than the 6350 in every way and should be a marked improvement over the 46A550 as well

Have you looked at the 2015 M-series? Go to Walmart and have a look at them. The content playing doesn't matter when looking for the screen door effect. I think the NEW 55" M55 is excellent in that respect.
Also the colors can be easily adjusted. No TV looks good straight out of the box on demo mode.
You really should at least consider the Vizio TV since it offers the input lag times you desire for gaming, with great black levels, 4K, and much better motion interpolation than past models.
I've put a 2014 Samsung UN55HU6840 and the new 2015 LG 55UF7600 side by side next to my Vizio P502ui-B1 and after properly calibrating them all, I prefer the picture I can get out of the Vizio considerably. There is no discernible screen door effect, and the contrast is 10x better (due to the Vizio having a VA panel vs the IPS panels in others, as well as full-array zoned backlighting instead of edge/bottom, etc).
Your dissatisfaction with the color would likely be remedied by proper calibration. The P502ui-B1 was $699 at Costco a few weeks ago. The 55 inch Vizio P series uses an IPS panel and doesn't look as good IMHO. However the new 2015 Vizio 55 inch models don't use IPS panels so they might be worth looking at.

After a LOT of research and auditioning last year the best 1080p 55 inch LCD TV i found was the Sony KDL-55W800B (and it's non-3D Best Buy W700B counterpart for a hundred bucks less). It has a VA panel so it has deep black levels and a high contrast ratio. I've got mine looking almost as good as my 55ST60 Plasma, and i'm very happy with it.
They're on clearance at a few places (including Amazon and also Sony's online store) and the supply is drying up fast. The replacement model (W800C) is coming out in a month or two and will be a lot more money upon initial release so the W800B is a great TV at a great price.
