List of LCD TVs with full array local dimming (FALD)

I've searched for a complete list of FALD TVs, but could not find any and instead decided to make my own. If you know that some of listed models are not actually FALD or know any other models that have FALD, post here and I'll update the list. Prices are given only for models currently available for purchase.

I don't remember its model year but the LG XXlh90 is FALD. I've had it about 6-7 years. Great set. I've contemplated one of the newer Vizio FALD 4K sets, but really still love my picture with the LG and don't see a need.

It's nice to have the list because one day it will crap out and I'll need to replace it and the replacement will be FALD (or OLED).

Great list.

It may be useful to add whether the set is a VA panel or IPS panel given that the characteristics of each are different. (When I started searching for a new set, I wanted an FALD IPS set).

Of the 2015 models, I believe the Panasonic TC-65AX900 is the only one. However, I think Vizio may use IPS panels for some specific screen sizes.

I thought the Sony 930C was not FALD and was edge lit?

Thank you for the list!

Panasonic 65CX850 is fald. The 55CX850 is sort of fald. It should be on the list though if the Vizio E series counts.

Sony 930c is edge lit

fafrd and sytech started threads with some nice lists recently. Here is the first decent AVS FALD list thread (up to 2011) #10 and post #55
Unofficial local dimming list and benefits?

The sony HX923 is probably the european version, the name in the USA is HX929, fully XBR HX929. The sony 900B is not a FALD.

If Sony 900B and 930C are not FALD, then what type of local dimming do they employ?

The 930c is edge lit and has a pseudo local dimming system.

They are edge lit with local dimming. Like the Samsung JS8500.

Wow, you went way back. Good job. Not that it matters much because you can not find them anymore, but the Toshiba 58L9400U is not FALD. Only the 65L9400U is FALD. Also, JVC makes some FALD units for Costco.

DON'T ARGUE WITH ME. I AM NEVER WONG.
