Sony 900c 65" two versions?

I had a dealer try to convence me that there were two versions of the same TV.
One had 1 billion colours and was made in mexico, one had "only 16.7 million" and was made in asia.
Of course the mexican set was $500 more.
Interesting.... I only see one TV set listed on sony's website....
They had both listed on their website, but now only list one...
eastcoasttvs
I paid 1700 each for a pair of TV's, still have not shipped them......

Are you sure one wasnt a x90c and other a x900c which are from what i understand are same tv just diff countries. Either way I would avoid the x900c at all cost. This TV has know defects which include horrible light bleeding.

Obviously it's a crock. "Residential USA with original Sony panel"? Sony doesn't even make panels anymore for consumer tv's ...
And if they offer another 'type' they must have imported them somehow but not through official Sony channels and it would still have the same specs and panel.

So its actually "nice electronics"
They claim set A is made in mexico, and is far superior, and set B is made in china, and is inferior.
