65" TV $1500 budget

Is it possible to get a quality 65" tv for under 1500? I have read a lot of posts and most are older posts showing 2015 models. I am ok with a new 2015 model of need be. Th tv will be going into a dark basement and used mainly for home theatre and gaming.

I would like a 65" over a 55" since the seating is 15'+ feet away from the wall where the tv will be mounted. I've heard Sony, Vizio, Lg, and Samsung are the brands to look at. But the model numbers confuse me

Use rtings.com, go to the 65" section and sort the reviews by the categories important to you.. you don't mention if you want 4k or not, but the Vizio D or E series can be had for around $1000 and they are 4k... However at 15'+ away, you'd need a 75" to enjoy 4k, so may even consider a 70" 1080p like the Vizio D series for $1200, they have good contrast for dark movie viewing and low input lag for gaming ... For a dark basement definitely avoid LG as their IPS panels don't look good at all in the dark... If you want 4k you can get the new 2016 Vizio M series for $1500 in 65", but again until you use HDR, the 4k resolution alone won't look any better than 1080p at that viewing distance... I hope this helps, and you can always try posting in the stickied "help me decide" thread for more advice.

At 15 feet I would want 120 inches. However, I would settle for 75" if it has DV HDR, HDR10, WCG, FALD, and excellent motion handling.

The vizio p75 c1 is a $4000 tv but the p65 c1 is right around $2000. I could save up another month or two and put money until a 75" but it would take away money I want to put into home theatre speakers and a receiver. I have roughly 4-5k to spend on the full setup.
