Matt's Post:
"Sorry for the delay... just landed and got access...
We enabled 3.0.13.5 a couple of hours ago for the group. This has the following updates:
If you are posting something specific about PQ performance it really helps to have source information, content info, time-code, etc and we will do our best to reproduce and tune.
Also, several of you have commented about continuing black out issues on Xbox. We have worked with MSFT on the fix, they have it completed.. but they are targeting a March release. I have escalated through several executives I know but no news on whether they can bump that up. Will continue to push...
Also, I dropped a hint on Twitter, but thought I would mention it here as well. We are working on several new features and improvements that I am very excited about. They will roll out between now and June-ish. I'll keep you updated as we go forward and provide more details as we are ready at each stage.
And if you have a Google Home... hopefully you are enjoying using voice to kick off content to your VIZIO displays
As always, I appreciate your participation and patience as we continuously make this product better. Your feedback is extremely important to me and the team."

How To Get On Matt's
Beta & Early Wide Firmware
Release List
Updated: Feb 5 / Apr 23 / May 24 / Jul 28, 2017
(May be updated if I get a reply from Matt about clarification on SN requests.)
If you have 15 or more posts throughout the AVS Forum site, you can
send Matt McRae a PM (Private Message) with your P-Series
and M-Series Serial Number located in the Tablet (the SmartCast App)
or on the label on the back of the Display. (The numbers are rearranged
a bit between the two, but either one will work just fine.)
Some have posted they can PM with a lot less than 15 Posts. I don't
know if the Forum changed this, but you can try and see if it works
if you haven't reached 15 'normal' site posts.
Update: Jul 28th, 2017
I now do not recommend doing public posting of your Serial Numbers
to any Thread. There may be hijacking of the posted SN going on.
Do only a PM (Private Message) of your SNs to Matt McRae from now
on.
Older Info on Public Posting:
Don't expect a reply from Matt, or that you'll get the Beta or early
Firmware Release so quickly. It could take days, right after Matt
posts the announcement. Thereafter, it could take quite a few
weeks or months before Matt gets back into the Forum to grab any
additional requests.
Please do not make multiple requests of your Serial Number. If
more than 45-to-60 days or more goes by, I'd suggest you wait
until Matt shows up in the Threads again when announcing a new
Beta Release.
Remember, Matt is quite busy and once in a while shows up to collect
new requests. He's not reading the posts for weeks or months at a
time, let alone daily. He gathers SN Request in batches whenever he gets
back to the Forum, so it can take a very long time to get on the List. You
may have to frequent the Forum to catch a rare post by Matt and then
quickly follow-up with your request, by PM only.
When there's a Wide Firmware Release, be patient. These
are rolled-out in batches... not all at once to everyone. It may take
some Displays weeks, maybe a month or more to finally get the Firmware.
As long as you are regularly turning-off your Display 30-minutes
or more, daily, you'll eventually auto-receive either:
A special, By-Request Beta Firmware and the Early access to a
Wide, General Release Firmware Update if you got on the List.
or
Only the Wide, General Firmware Release to everyone if you
are not on the Beta/Early Wide Release List.
If you just purchased a new TV/Display, and it has an older
Firmware, be patient... it will auto-update to the current Wide
Release, perhaps in stages with other Firmware Releases first.

New Post From Matt on Beta 3.2.8.3 Firmware Release
"Sorry for the long absence... we had a quiet period while we were waiting for the LeEco situation to resolved (which ended this week).
Good news is that the teams have been working really hard on new firmware.
Version 3.2.8.3 is a Test Release which significant and numerous changes...
Too many to enumerate here, but the highlights consist of:
We have Golden Reference files that will be posted on Monday (Here), along with official release notes.
But, I wanted to get this out for the holiday weekend to this group.
This firmware also unifies our 2016 and 2017 code bases and checks in significant architectural
changes for futures releases and performance enhancements. The VIZIO 2017 press event is on
April 24th in New York and we will be pre-announcing some significant features that will roll-out
this Summer. Stay tuned...
What I can reveal here (and what many of you already found) is that we added on screen menus and a
new OOBE. This was a huge undertaking as we hooked up the UX to the underlying settings framework.
There are a couple of known issues that we are fixing ASAP including 11 point adjustments but
hopefully you will see the addition of our sidebar as a step forward.
The sidebar and new OOBE will work with older VIZIO remote that have Dpad or any universal remote
that can utilize VIZIO IR codes.
To say thank you to our beta testers here... VIZIO has developed a new remote control with a Dpad
called the XRT135. If you are on the Beta Test List and don't have a remote that has VIZIO Dpad...
eMail Beta@Vizio.com with your (Serial Number and) shipping address and I'll send you a free remote.
Please test and report issues you find. We did our best to regression test from Sprint 1.3 to
Sprint 2 (this code) but there are major changes to this code. I'll be monitoring this group and
working with the team over the next weeks to knock down issues you find.
Again, thanks for your patience... and stay tuned for more improvements, new content and new
features over the coming months.

- Download the Firmware Version from the above link(s).
- Once downloaded, extract the .zip file (1 .zip file with 2 files inside), and place the 2 files onto a USB drive. Make sure there is nothing else on the USB drive and do not put the files in any kind of folder. VIZIO recommends using a 2gb flash drive and the flash drive must be FAT formatted.
- Turn the Home Theater Display on and place the TV on an input with no content showing. You should see the "No Signal" message.
- Insert the newly prepared flash drive into the USB 2.0 slot (the black USB port).
- A banner will appear at the top of the display acknowledging the installation of a new software.
- The display will then reboot (power off and then power on).
- When the Display powers back on it will state DO NOT INTERRUPT THE UPDATE, and show a progress bar. When the progress bar is full, the Display will reboot.
- To verify the new software has been installed, open the VIZIO SmartCast App on a tablet or smartphone and access the Home Theater Display Settings (The 'Gear' Icon).
- Select System > System Information > Display Information.
- The Firmware 'Version' (below 'Model Name') should be updated to show the number of the firmware you just installed.
- Be sure you are Looking at "Version" and not "Cast Version."
