4K Content Over Cable

I dont watch a lot of movies yet every once and a while I will go to Netflix, search 4K and watch some of the shows they have. They are amazing on my LG UF 9500.

So what's up with the cable companies? We spend all of this money on buying 4K sets yet the best they can do is upres 1080.

Any ideas as to when that will change?

not until the new 3.0 ATSC (??) format that will support SD and HDR formats in the same package. HLG will also be needed in the sets (or converted box) for this, and these won't start trickling in until this and next year's models
