Well just a quick little report the Q9 has zero to do with the Q7 I had. The Q9 has a very nice picture but can it take down the Z Or the 2017 OLED I have just gotten? Also my panel on the Q9 has a strange spot that is darker it's not huge but u can notice it with bright blue or white backgrounds I will monitor that but zero dead pixels ?

If you guys predicting the results of the 2017 CE Week TV Shootout could instead share who is going to win the Super Bowl next year, that's much more useful information and I will go place my bet now and buy a fancy TV with the money I win. Thanks in advance.

Better just wait it out, 2021 will be the year they clear up all these issues for sure, and HDMI 2.3f will be out by then

OK folks, regarding lag time... still waiting for an external 4K scaler to arrive (today) so I can use it with the HD Fury and get true minimum readings in 4K SDR plus HDR.

Will the Forbes number be confirmed? Looks very possible as of now...

Upscaling the 1080P SDR pattern from the Leo Bodnar lag tester, in game mode, gave me a result of 17.8 milliseconds for the top of the screen reading, 21.1 milliseconds in the middle of the screen, and 25 milliseconds for the bottom. That's with the TV doing the upscaling, so native 4K has potential to be faster.

All edge lit LED's are garbage I don't care if it uses quantum dots that can display 100% of the human vision and have 10000nits brightness you simply cannot get a uniform picture like you can with a OLED or a FALD like the Z9D that I have.
Samsung will have a lot of trouble selling these but they deserve it for making the whole 2017 range edge lit.

Nope.

Please do not post a comment in this review implying that video—the one with the banding—has anything to do with the picture quality of this TV.

To make an analogy, if I connect a VCR to a flagship 2017 TV and tape the result with a phone or a cheap webcam, that does not mean the TV has poor picture quality.

Or, please refer to Spongebob Squarepants.

That's YouTube garbage. It's a video that should not be posted here because it's massive deceitful and shows nothing that has anything to do with the Q9F's image quality. This should be abundantly clear to anyone who's read the review and seen footage of these TVs.

The prices on Sony and Samsung Qled sets are insane, no matter what mambo Jambo acronym they bring the bottom line is these are edge lit LCD and have all basic LCD flaws of viewing angle and light bleed are there. I am disappointed with these reviewers who make such big deal about these improvements but forget to mention that with price tag of 6k to 24 k the two LCD flaws not worth it. I have quantum dot Samsung LCD set and it is garbage in front of lg oled. The brightness of oled is so much talked about as issue I have my tv in bright room with large windows and it is no problem, how many people will use the torch mode brightness in tv room. For larger screens a 4 k projector will beat the 23k price by long shot. Not sure about Sony oled prices will win them more sales as tv is not $3400 better what they charging extra over c6 or b6 lg 65 inch oled tvs. At some point price make difference it is crazy prices.

Predicting the next Super Bowl is actually much easier. It'll be the New England Patriots again. They're getting Gronk back (who was absent for their playoff run last season) and they improved in some key areas over the offseason (this despite already being the best team in the league.)

I can tell is not the content because as the camera pans the bands stay on the same place. Is just a bad panel ,the guy have two options exchange or get the screen replaced.

I don't believe that all Qled have this type of bad uniformity.

He mentions in the video that if the source video has no banding, it won't show up, so as Mark said, if you have a goofy poor quality with banding in it, the Q9 will faithfully show it.

Perhaps a Q9 and Z9 head to head showdown at the O.K. Corral is worthy of its own separate thread, since it may generate a lot of heated discussion. Not sure if all the discussion surrounding a head to head fits in with the purpose of this topic. Perhaps Mark could weigh in.

I see a banding strip right above the very 3D looking box of cornflakes, and I didn't even know the Q9 was 3D capable!

Yeah we're gonna do this, and soon. Possibly as soon as next week. And I will create a new article about it. As for discussing it here? Let's not get carried away and derail the thread, that's all I ask.

And yeah of course we're gonna throw in an OLED. Gonna be a good time!
