I don't understand the reason behind of having merged LCD & Plasma threads. I don't care for Plasma, but I keep running into posts about Plasma screens when I do my search.

I am 100% in agreement on this. Each side has their own likes and dislikes so why not seperate threads.

Nothing has been "merged". This has always been the "flat panel" forum. No need to separate them now. Cross pollination is a good thing.

The "splitting the forums" topic comes up from time to time and the answer is always the same - the forum will not be split and will remain as it is.

One or two years ago, when LCD TVs had terrible picture quality and weren't available in larger sizes like the Plasmas were, having separate forums might have been a good idea. But now that current LCDs look so much better and the larger sizes are more readily available and priced closer to similar sized plasmas they've become a viable alternative and having em all in one forum makes it easier to choose the technology best suited to a particular person's specific needs.

Now if people would just search for past threads instead of posting new "LCD vs Plasma" threads every day it would make things much nicer around here ;)\\

Oh i forgot - IBTL :D
