DVI-I? That's interesting! So it'll be able to transmit both Analog and Digial signals.
So I guess we *CAN* use VGA-DVI adapters on this thing!! This is important for folks
who have an xbox 360 and a VGA cable. Just grab a cheap DVI/VGA adapter.
Anyhow, I'm a bit lost on the details of this TV. Does it include TRUD or not? Is it
HDMI 1.3 or not? It almost sounds like it's basically the current D90 series with the
new 8th gen panel, 120Hz (TRU-D or not?!?) and a new backlight system which
they didn't even mention. It seems they are keeping hush on this thing. I'm actually
disappointed the interviewers didn't ask more specific questions on this TV. I guess
it'll all be answered at the CES show booth tomorrow right? I expect such. I'm just
so surprised they didn't mention anything about the 5-wavelength backlight and
other enhancements. For the HDMI 1.3 guys out there (I'm hoping too of course)
I wouldn't fret as they just don't seem to care for those specifics. It's as if they
dumbed down things for the press conference. They actually had to be asked
about HDMI 1.3 for their blu-ray player.
Good to see that they truly are shipping now. I took the plunge and preordered this
thing a few weeks back, so it's great news to me. I am taking a huge risk on this
thing though (ie: banding of d62). Heh, I'm surprised no one asked them about
banding at the press conference. Next time I think AVS members should put some
cash together and send a representative to the show to ask some hard questions.
